The best teacher I have had at JMU so far. He genuinely really cares about his students success. The material in this course is difficult so be ready to work for your grade. He is always available outside of class, whether it is email or zoom, and works really hard to make sure we are prepared for every exam with all the extra resources we need.

Hes a great guy and easy to get ahold of out of class. In class examples easy but once it comes to the test its completely different and harder. 2 quizzes a week around 4 questions each. Doesnt show you ur grade so you have no idea if you should drop the class or not. I would recommend another professor even though he is nice and funny.

Test make up most of your grade and his averages r considerably less than 70%. I had a technical error that had nothing to do with my end on a project submission and he told me the highest he can give me was a 50. So he gets a 2.5/5.

Professor Stevens is a really nice guy and it's clear he cares about his students, but the material he goes over in lectures seems to be a lot simpler than the material that's on the tests. Our class average for all of the exams was never above like a 60, and didn't even think that was bad. He doesn't give +/- so that screwed over a lot of people.

Professor Stevens is the best professor for 191, but he might not be the easiest A. He is an amazing teacher, he tells you exactly what to read and concepts to attempt before class. You have to be a consistent student, but he makes it easier by adding extensions to tests and drops your lowest 5 quizzes. He genuinely wants you to learn.

Stevens is the reason why I switched my major. I can't believe this guy. He grades so roughly and doesn't seem to care at all about his students. Granted, I am really glad that I switched my major because I'm happier now, but Scott is the reason that I ended up having no faith in myself to have a good grade. Avoid at all costs and get a diff prof

Worst professor for 191. Stevens really knows and cares about what he teaches but he makes everything so impossible for the students. I was excited for 191 but now my grade sucks because he just doesn't care about his students passing. He only uses excel for notes, nothing else which no one in my class learns from. Just plain and simple avoid him.

Professor Stevens knows what he is talking about better than anybody, but he just expects you to be the same way. He solves questions without really explaining the work behind them. I am not alone in this as the class averages for the past two exams have been 59% and 61%. Meanwhile he boasts about his low averages and teaches us nothing.

He's so funny and he really knows everything to know about statistics but he is the hardest teacher I have ever had. Everyone in his class is struggling (even if they have a good grade) and online learning from him is kinda impossible. He is so smart, he just expects us to be the same which wasnt the case. This is the first class I have ever failed

Hands down most well rounded professor, he made 191 very interesing and wants everyone to do well. His online templates and resources had to take years to make, he also is hilarious which makes class better. I would vote for this guy to be President

191 is a hard class no matter what, but Dr. Stevens makes it achievable. He gives homework each night and readings from the textbook which help if you do them! Do the readings because he gives quizzes before class sometimes. He goes above and beyond to help his students and really knows his stuff.

Professor Stevens is a great professor, humorous and very engaging in his class. The material in general is tough and you must read the assignments and although he does not check for homework, it is on you to master the homework concepts which he will cover in class. 2 projects and 4 exams. He has great analogies to remembering concepts.

291 is a hard class no matter what professor you take but Stevens lectures make understanding the material so much easier. He comes up with analogies that makes sense to any student. He's the nicest, funniest guy in the world and kinda makes stats fun. I would take him for every class if I could, by far my favorite professor so far.

Scott is a great guy. He truly cares so much about his students and really did try to help everyone understand the material. The class itself is hard for people who are bad at stats so if you work constantly and always go to his office hours he will really help. Tests were so hard he had to make our first test take home because the average was a 60

Stevens is a really good professor, he has study sessions before tests and he's always available during office hours. I didn't like the number of quizzes we had, about one every week and only 3-5 questions per quiz so if you get one wrong, you get a bad grade. Questions on tests were sometimes tricky. 1 project to boost your grade. Go to class!

Dr. Stevens is fantastic and you can tell he really cares about getting his students to understand the content. His tests are definitely difficult, the class average was around 60-70 on all his tests, but they weren't impossible to do well on and if you do all of the readings you should be fine.

COB191 is a hard class but he made things way too difficult. I did all the readings and still failed the quizzes and tests. He makes things seem easy in class and you think you understand but his tests are SO MUCH HARDER than they needed to be. He cares a lot and is a great prof but just made things more difficult than they needed to be.
