Prof. Petrozzino is a really kind man. He's good at his job and teaches Calculus in a way that is easier to understand. Take him.

Prof. Petrozzino was great. I had him Spring 2020 when we went online but also had him for pre-calc the semester before and he was very nice. He is very soft spoken so get a seat at the front, he explains everything clearly, he gives 5 exams and a final, but there is a lot of webassign assignments. he is nice and will answer all your questions.

Great Calc teacher! Gives you review sheet before each exam and review sheet is the exact same format as the exam. If you know how to do the problems on the review sheet, you'll get an A on the exams. Professor is very helpful and caring.

Professor Petrozzino is a great guy; let me start off by saying that. But his class is by far the hardest class I have taken at Seton Hall. He is very soft spoken and his teaching method just makes it seem like he could be teaching the material in a much easier way. I personally would not take this class again or find a different professor.

5 exams, each worth 8%, totaling 40% of your grade. Homework is 15%, Mathematica (a different hw assignment, only 5 assigned) are worth 10%, final exam is 35%. Utilize math learning lab and study practice packets (are identical to test) and you will pass. He's not that bad, just a bit quiet and keeps over class time often. Good calc professor.

He is a great teacher. The lectures are very straightforward. The homework is based off the lectures and as long as you understand both of them you can pass the tests.

Just the worst prof I have ever had. DO NOT TAKE HIM IF U HAVE NOT TAKEN CALC. He takes points off for the most ridiculous things. HE MAKES DERIVATIVES SEEM HARD. The way he teaches makes me want to just cry.

His class was very boring, but I would take him out of all the Calc professors. I took AP CALC in high school which helped a lot, but the way he teaches is too complicated and the class drags on. His test were like the review sheets until he puts a random question on that he talked about once. He also takes off points on tests so show all work!!!

Professor Petrozzino was not the best professor, but he did give us everything we needed to succeed. If you've already taken calculus definitely take him, if you have not taken it calc yet you should still take him and just sit close during lectures because he is a low talker. Do your homework and study guides and you'll be fine.

Your grade is based off of 5 tests, webassign homeork (LOTS OF), Mathematica projects, and the final exam (35% of your grade). Speaks very softly and writes very small so sit in the front if you want to learn. The tests are IDENTICAL to the study guide he gives you with different numbers, so you can definitely pull at least a B for the course.

If you've taken Calc in high school, then this class will be a breeze. He speaks a bit softly and writes small, so sitting in the first few rows will be a HUGE help. Once he gets to know you, he really cares about you and tries to help you. His side comments are so funny (once he gets comfortable with the class he will do this).

I don't understand why people have given him such bad reviews. He gives you review sheets for tests which are THE SAME AS THE TEST, except different numbers obviously. He gives a lot of webassign hw and it's kind of hard to understand him sometimes because of his voice but I would highly recommend taking him because he is very easy! TAKE HIM!

He is a really caring person, but he is very lecture heavy and writes EXTREMELY small. If you're going to take his class then I would probably know some calculus before, so you can teach yourself. The thing that saves you are the review guides he gives because they are just like the tests.

He is actually a really nice guy. His lectures are a little boring and can drag on. But he gives you literally everything you need to do well. He is only a little tough with his project grading. Otherwise he really cares about the students and doesn't mind taking questions.

He is an absolutely terrible professor when it comes to teaching however his grading and tests are fair. There are two reasons students pass his class: a) he gives a "review sheet before the test which has the same questions that are on the testsjust differentnumbers b) They have already taken the course in highschool. Do all the homework and study

This teacher doesn't teach and is difficult to understand. I learn more by reading the textbook during class than by whatever problems he's going over on the board. His homework solutions to his assignments are never right, either. I tried to drop the class immediately after the syllabus day, and couldn't. Highly recommend taking another teacher.

I've seen all the reviews here (so deceiving) and was discouraged to take his class but in all honesty if you ACTUALLY do your work, and ask for help after class he will help. I wish he was available again for my Calc class. He even gives a sheet that provides similar problems to be seen on the test. How much easier can it be?

I didn't think he was that bad. There are two Webassign online homework assignments after every class and the occasional Mathematica assignment, but neither are too bad. The hardest part of the class is showing up- my class was 2 hours long and he just speaks so softly and quietly that it can be difficult to find motivation to show up.

Comment:
Horrendous professor. Does not respond to emails, does not provide any sort of feedback. Creates ridiculous "Mathematica" assignments, which he grades harshly and which will not help you at all. He speaks softly and slowly, and teaches with absolutely zero clarity. It would be an incredibly bad decision to take this man. He belongs at home.
