I am so happy that I got Professor Casey last semester. He was the nicest guy, made funny jokes, and was extremely understanding and fair. If you did the work(if there was any!!) and participated he would most likely give an A. A great guy, and a semi-interesting class

Super confusing class. Weekly journals which are easy, a couple tests and a couple of other homeworks. Not very helpful. It was a little interesting at times but overall really confusing and difficult.

The class is very boring all he does is talk, but as long as you participate, do most of the assignments, and read a little bit of the books he assigns its an easy A.

Aside from the fact that he can't hear anything, he is a great professor. He is enthusiastic about the material and encourages participation. Mandatory attendance policy that is strictly enforced.

Amazing teacher. He loves the topic he teaches and wants everyone to do well and get something out of the course. 25% of the grade is class participation and if you care and show effort, you're golden. He is very lenient with due dates and will help if you ask for it. Do the work even if it isn't always collected, it helps you a lot.

Very obviously promotes Catholic religion. Though he encourages class discussion it's clear he does not consider any ideas that conflict with his beliefs. Boring class, he lectures the whole time. 1 hour 15 minutes of pain.

Like most of the other reviews said, he is very hard of hearing. But he is a very nice man, very passionate about teaching. Usually weekly journals are assigned and a few papers, but no tests except midterm and final. Will give you extension if needed. Overall, I would recommend him.

Professor Casey can't hear a thing. Even when we is two feet away from you, you need to repeat yourself. He doesn't tell you when the quizzes are. Attendance is mandatory. Participation is 25% of your grade. At best, expect a B.

Casey definitely plays favorites, but just say some random things in class to get participation points. You don't actually have to do the readings, there were only two quizzes the entire semester. Mostly it was Journals and a few Papers. Not a bad class at all, just speak up and share your ideas!

Casey pretends he doesn't play favorites but totally does. Time stands still in this class. Boring because he dwells on the same topics. Attendance and participation are both mandatory. Class always runs 5-10 min late.

Professor Casey is a really nice guy, but I was not very impressed with PHIL-101L. He would always spend too much time on one thing; as a result we got through maybe 2/3 of the syllabus. However he grades fairly and does cover a few very good and interesting topics and the class discussions are really good. He'll really get you thinking.

He is deaf so be prepared to yell and repeat yourself multiple times. It is a mandatory class and though class can be boring I recommend taking his class because he has the lowest work load and you don't have to read much Plato or any of the other books other classes are reading.

to tell u the truth, i don't think he's such an awesome teacher. he's easy enough, but i got really bored in his class. its mostly discussions, but if ur not really outgoing, this class might be difficult for u. participation is 25% of the grade and if you don't talk, u might as well get ready to get at most a b-. keep up w/ ur work and ur fine.

He is a good teacher and nice guy attendance is important cause participation is a fourth or your grade, you also have to do weekly journals and a lot of reading although its not really necessary to read all of the material to still get a good grade his midterms and finals are usually take home essays and theres also a five page term paper

Good teacher, overall nice guy and not boring or conceited. Also, you really don't have to do much work other than some reading and one or two normal-length essays. It is generally class discussions. However, attendance IS mandatory, and I highly recommend that you show up. I slept through a few classes and now I'm praying my grade is a pass!

Professor Casey is such a sweet man. I was having trouble and he met with me until I understood the material. he really does care about his students. Not much work, just journals, and some essays.... Final is take-home... If you put some effort in he will take notice and help you earn your A. Interesting class and he is so so so NICE!

Prof Casey is awesome. You read for homework and then talk about it in class. he often rambles on until you have no clue what he is talking about. Theres like 1 easy quiz that he tells you about and the midterm and final are essays which are not too bad. Good class though because it makes you think about life. Oh 1 bad thing..attendance is mandatoy

This is one of those classes that is only as good as you make it. Put some effort into it and you'll get a lot out of it. On the contrary, do the absolute minimum and raise your hand once in a while and you'll still get an A. So it's really a win-win situtation. The guy's really passionate about the course material and cares about his students.
