Comment:
Although the course content is hard, Jim made the class very enjoyable. He was super funny and always shared his personal experiences in PM. He split the midterm and exam into weekly quizzes which were great. Assignments are easy by watching youtube videos, group project was extremely hard as there's very little information given. Attend class.

Midterm and Final weight is divided into weekly quizzes. This is a blessing because material is quite dense. Prepare for weekly quizzes well and you WILL do well in this course - you MUST read the textbook. Final project requirements are painfully vague, but individual assignments are easy despite no guidance on how to use MS Project. Use Youtube

Fall 2020 was such a breeze b/c he decided to get rid of the midterm and exam & replaced them w/ weekly quizzes. However you still NEED to read the textbook to pass these quizzes & essentially the course. Start working on the group project ASAP & ask lots of questions. The project outline is very vague so make sure u understand what he expects.

Whoever rated him with 1.0 or 2.0 are the biggest try hards at Ryerson. Legit show up to class and do the quizzes, his quizzes were the makeup for the midterm and final I dont understand why some tryhards want to LeArn. Just go to class you will pass simple. Assignment was explained by the video, final project was a bit tedious but passable.

If you can learn the program yourself and figure out the group project (vague outline), you should be fine. Overall easy prof

I don't understand why this prof has anything less than a 5 rating. He is THE easiest professor at Rye. NO FINAL OR MIDTERM due to COVID, only weekly quizzes which were SO easy. DEF TAKE HIM, you won't regret it. Easy A

Jim Tam is incredibly uncaring and unclear in his lectures. He relies heavily on irrelevant stories and goes on tangents.

Prof Tam is very knowledgeable BUT he does not empathize with students and is quite harsh. He requires us to write a quiz every week with cameras on, gets angry with students when we email him for help and goes off on tangents every lecture. OVERALL DONT TAKE THIS PROF IF U WANT A HIGH GRADE

He expects you to learn the software by yourself, his lectures are not helpful for the actual content of the class, he just rambles on about his own experience which is good but is a waste of time. he assigns 2 individual projects, 1 group project and quiz's every week! overall i dont reccommend the prof!! dont take him...

Don't really have any complaints. His lectures were a little dull but they were clear and concise and he did the best he could considering the content. The course work itself is all case studies and he's clear with the expectations so as long as you set sometime aside to get them done you won't stress too much.

The prof firstly delayed hiring a GA for the class for the first 3 weeks, setting us behind in our labs, which were supposed to prepare us for our midterm, though since we were behind, this did not give us enough information to be prepared. Additionally, during the lectures, the professor did not provide slides or any helpful course information.

Alright prof, he doesn't really explain much and his lectures are pretty vague in terms of content. The book is mandatory in order to complete the project and it will definitely be required in order to do well on the midterm and final exam.

Jim Tam is a decent professor. He wants everyone to learn how to become a professional. There are little things that you should keep in mind that he says that would help you down the line. The textbook is essential to read as Jim Tam even says. His lectures go over a brief overview but should definitely go over textbook.

Talks about irrelevant topics in class and doesn't clarify questions people have. You have to read the lecturestextbook yourself before class as he doesn't even review the chapters there. Didn't learn a thing from going to class, learned it all on my own the day before exam.

Okay prof. Gives us a project months in advanced without teaching us the material to do the project until a couple of days before it is due. Also around the same time as finals. Took 2 weeks to hire TAs so we didn't have labs for about 3 weeks. Very unorganized. Okay lecturer. Material wasn't too hard but I'd avoid this professor in the future.

Profs okay, he does not mark the cases, he just assigns a random average to different students. I got 78-80% on every case, and a student in my class with a 1.9 GPA got the same grades. He will give you the option for an in class or take home exam DONT DO THE IN CLASS! The take home Is a case study from the text. My class made the wrong choice.
