Once you catch on to his sense of humor you'll realize he's sarcastic and not rude like it comes off. He's a funny guy and really laid back. He really likes dark and taboo type stuff so if you want to get an A focus on that. However if you're not Asian, don't bother. You'll never get an A, even if your work is good, so just do what you like to do.

Comment:
Stan is very knowledgeable in photography, but tends to forget that ART107 is an intro class, and expects too much from students. He offers harsh criticism, and will pick out the very slightest details that would improve your work. Be prepared to pay a lot for course materials, and spend lots of time in the lab.

Stan is VERY thorough. So thorough that you may get lost in thought in the middle of his explanations. Nonetheless, he offers very helpful techniques to improve. And he is very knowledgeable in his field. If you love a challenge you should take his class. He is direct and honest. And may seem intimidating but he is very approachable and friendly.

Very knowledgable teacher. If you are open to his criticism, your work will improve greatly. He can sometimes get too intellectual in the way he explains things, forgetting that you don’t have the vast experience that he does. But if you ask him to explain again, he will.

Kind of hard to please with your work and will tell you like it is but he gives you lots of feedback of how to make it better. sometimes his project explanations aren't clear, but just ask him after class for more info. prepare to pay a lot for film and paper and spend hours in the lab! But he's a funny laid back guy and enjoy him as a professor.

Don't take this class. He's not the nicest guy on campus, and if he decides he doesn't like your style, good luck trying to get anything better than a C in an INTRO class.

hard to understand if he is not given full attention. he will not repeat things, or he may, if you dont get it. his class and the photo program is hardly for commercial photography, although he would like to prepare you for it, by doing things you despise,
