Comment:
Dr. Elaydi was the worst professor I've ever had. He graded my final wrong and cost me a letter grade and when I tried to email him about it he ignored my emails and never replied to me. He was also extremely difficult to follow, and his lectures were just reading the text book which I don't need to pay thousands of dollars for.

I really liked Dr. Elaydi and I thought he was a super sweet professor. That being said youtube and the textbook were my teachers; I had teach myself everything in this course. His lectures are pretty ok, but I liked it better when he went through problems (2nd half of class). Beware he calls on people randomly.

I literally took calculus in high school and he managed to confuse me on things I'd already learned. I could tell he was trying but I don't think his heart was in it, his energy is better spent with advanced math classes. I also felt he was annoyed at me when I went to his office hours, why have them if you're gonna make students feel uncomfortable

I am basically teaching myself. His "lectures" are just reading the textbook (which I can do on my own). Very tough grader. I took calculus in high school and did great, but now I am getting the lowest grades I have ever received. Avoid him.

My lowest grade of college thus far. Teaches tough subjects and can move very fast and get frustrated easily. That being said, I brought my grade up from a C- to a B- and know how to take his class. Go to every office hours. He's a nice man who teared up on our last class day. Lectures in an old-school way but thats not necessarily a bad thing.

Dr. Elaydi was a reasonable professor who I would recommend for Calculus I - he was not always great at explaining, but his tests are very reasonable and he is pretty funny and generally helpful.

He is a funny guy, but his lectures are unclear, and difficult to follow. When I sat down to do the homework, I mostly had to use peer tutors and video tutorials to learn the content. His tests aren't too terrible, but overall, I would recommend avoiding Elaydi if you can. Half the people in my section dropped after the second final.

One of my favorite math professors at Trinity, I was never bored in his class. His tests are not terrible, as long as you work the practice problems he gives out and pay attention in class. He is a kind, funny guy and is very understanding and helpful if you are struggling.

he made no attempt to follow the syllabus--said homework would be assigned on Mondays and he never posted before Fridays and he changed his mind about letting us use calculators. he also is not a good professor to take if you have accommodations because he makes it unnecessarily difficult to use them.

Good professor. He is very smart. Sometimes the material is hard and he is willing to help the ones who want to get help. He is very respected around campus. His teaching method might not work for everyone.

Dr. Elaydi is a fun professor who is very smart about Calculus II. There are two exams, three quizzes, weekly homework, and a final (worth 30%). The class is tough, but he is very open to questions during his office hours. Also, there is a peer tutor for our class that was also very helpful. He goes a little quick, so make sure you focus.

He's unclear in lectures. He'll start writing on the board, then he'll pull up the powerpoint made by WebAssign, then he'll try to figure out the powerpoint in front of the whole class in silence. (Not every day is like this, but many are.) I made an A in high school calculus and a 5 on the AP but did badly in his class. Not a good professor.

This guy is hilarious, he tells a joke at the beginning of each class and you'll laugh a lot when listening to his lectures. However, I found his class very difficult as I only had a little bit of Calculus before taking the class. Very few tests and quizzes so it's hard to do well if you mess up on one. Funny guy, but this a tough class.

Dr. Elaydi is a really smart guy, but he is not an effective teacher. If you have not taken calculus in high school, DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. He assumes that you know a lot of things that are not taught in precalculus for the most part. He is also judgmental when you ask him questions. Sometimes he even ridicules you if you don't understand somethin

I didn't learn anything from his class, and that's not for a lack of trying. In my humble opinion, he is the worst professor in this department.

I didn't take calc in high school and was confused the entire semester. Dr.E is a really great guy but he assumes you think like his PhD mind and therefore skips vital explaining. I relied on the textbook/tutors/online videos a lot of the time. Highly suggest going to office hours A LOT to show you're really trying, it makes a big difference.

So I had an A all semester and was doing really well.. Then the final came. The final had stuff on it I had never seen before. That was such a cheap shot :-( He is funny but sometimes he can be confusing. In office hours he is relatively helpful!

Great professor. Most commenters seem to be either drawn back by the difficulty, or inability to understand his accent. Don't base your opinion on that, and you will love his classes.
