teacher does not answer any questions. read off from the slides and expect students to show up knowing the material. the attendance rate dropped significantly after few weeks starting the course.

Ayse has been a fair instructor for this course but my main gripe is that she doesn't record her lectures! Her notes are easy to follow but not as a standalone resource. I do find 2108 to be much more self-taught than algebra courses I've taken with other instructors, but the textbook for this course is good and free if you look carefully.

During lectures, she read off lecture notes. After the first few weeks, the average attendance was 10 students. Weekly quizzes on MyLab Math, but the questions were taken from the Study Plan questions so I would recommend doing those. Go in with the mindset that the course is self-taught and make a study group to practice with others.

Awful prof, easy tests if you study her examples. She really doesn't care about her students, doesn't answer anybody's questions or respond to any emails. She basically just reads off her notes in class.

Honestly I disagree what most people here are saying. She is a tremendously caring professor that ensures you do well in her course. Course expectations are clear and you'll know what to study for a test/exam, and there are no surprises in the assessments. Attend lectures, do a few of the practice problems, and you'll get an easy A.

The tests werent based on the content stated. Also said during class, Dont stop to think, just write when talking about the first test of the semester. You can learn the content just by doing the practice problems in the textbook, as she just reads verbatim from a PDF as her lecture slides. Assumes you know the content before she teaches it.

I thought she was a great prof and her accent wasn't as strong as people are saying. You wouldn't expect it from your first impression, but she's actually quite humorous and interesting. Just make sure you go to every class because the examples will be the exact same as on the tests and exam. If you go to class you'll get an A.

Great prof! She is very intelligent when it comes to teaching the subject and does enough examples so you can study them for the tests. Tests are all fair, and if you go to class she will give you hints of what is on the test! And the final was very similar to the review.

Initially took this class with a different prof and had to drop it due to the difficulty. Alaca made this class a lot easier to grasp, and I ended up with an 'A' when I took it with her. If you can, take this course with her instead of IB, I went from D to A after switching sections.

Tests are extremely fair. Gives questions exactly like the ones we do in class. Copy examples down and study them and you are golden. Gives very good directions and tips on how to solve equations. Math profs often get bad reps as being difficult but its the course not the prof! She does her best to make the course as clear as possible.

Has thick accent, and can be hard to understand. Seems that she doesn't herself understand what she is teaching, especially if you ask her a question about what she's copying from her notes onto the board.
