I was a student from 1999 to 2005. Dr. Province was my academic advisor and supervised my research projects. Far and away he was my favorite Professor at the entire university. He has a great sense of humor, is not easy but is fair, and has a heart not trapped inside a Buckyball. DP

Weekly quizzes and very hard to catch outside of class. He is one of the easier chem profs, but that doesn't mean he is easy. He had online practice tests that were very similar to the real tests. His chem121 class is easier than 122. Very nice man. Offers extra credit at the end of the year if you didn't skip class. Weekly homework grades.

People take Province thinking that he is the easiest of the chem professors but thats not true. That being said, he is a great teacher and an even better person. He really wants to get to know you and help you pass. You have to work for your grade but if he sees you work hard he will be your biggest supporter. If you have the chance TAKE HIM!

Dr. Province can be a confusing man. At times he seems to care lots about his students other times not at all. His class (Chem 121 and 122) aren't the hardest classes ever, but he wasn't very helpful and belittled his student when they asked questions. Some people love him, others dislike him very much.

He was very rude to students, especially if they had to miss class. His final brought many students down entire letter grades, and he didn't really seem to care about his students rather than his own personal agenda.

Dr. Province is extremely helpful! His office hours are at convenient times and he will do anything to help you out if you come visit him! His class is hard and you have to study a lot and try very hard. If you study and go see him you will do fine. His tests are in the testing lab and you usually have around an hour to finish.

Dr. Province's lectures are long and often leave students confused. He sometimes gets frustrated by students asking difficult questions to him during class. I went in multiple times for individual help but left feeling confused. He makes it difficult to come to him because of how intimidating he can be. Expect quizzes every Wednesday and weekly hw.

He is a nice teacher but often is very confusing through his teachings. I feel prepared after the lecture but when I get to the homework I feel lost and unprepared. It did help to go in and get individual help with him because he could see directly what I was personally struggling with.

Dr. Province really cares about his students. I had him at 8 in the morning, and he was always excited to teach. His lectures can be long, but he keeps your attention. Expect weekly quizzes, and online homework. This class requires a lot of work and studying. Take complete advantage of SI sessions and homework help sessions... these help so much!

I only took Dr. Province for the last semester of my freshman chemistry course and I'm so glad I did. He is such a great guy! He gives weekly quizzes(there are study sessions the night before, taught by older students). He give you a practice exam before the real exam and as long as you know how to do the practice exam you'll do great on his tests!

This was a challenging course, but he was very fair in grading. There are weekly quizzes every Wednesday that most people bomb, but they are not weighted very much. Only 3 tests, which is nice but also not. Overall, it is very obvious that he cares about his students and is always willing to help during his office hours. Would definitely recommend.

I took his 8:00am class, and that was a big mistake, as it was hard to stay awake. That being said, this teacher does his best to energize the students and grab their attention. He is goofy, but knows when to be serious. Loved having him as a teacher, even though I didn't like the subject.

Dr. Province is an amazing teacher. I absolutely hate chemistry, but I absolutely love him. I am horrible at chemistry, but he is so helpful. He really wants to help you and he wants to get to know you. He has helped me with much more than just chemistry and has become a mentor to me. Take Dr. Province! Great man of God!

Webassign is extremely easy (if you look them up on the internet - otherwise you won't know how to do it). Tests are extremely hard, even when you study your butt off.

CHEM 121 LAB (only): I wish I had taken his class! He was great in lab. He thoroughly went over the lab before you got in there. He's approachable, kind, and very willing to help. Great guy! Take him!
