Get ready to read a lot but if you're into psychology and/or evolution the class is great! Weekly quizzes are super easy if you do the reading. Most lectures are discussion based and include a lot of student debates which are usually fun. Willy Wenk is overall pretty chill

SO SO boring literally I would sit in class and play cup pong with the person next to me - he wants you to be super specific and if you don't agree you're done - need to show up every Wednesday or you're screwed, I do not recommend

I learned so much from this class. Participation is huge, students are constantly debating. If you do not love biology and like psychology, I highly recommend taking this class for your natural science requirement.

Wenkert was a great professor. His quizzes were easy all you had to do was show that you did the reading. Despite what other people have said, he was tolerant of people's ideas, it's just his job to teach us this perspective. He was extremely passionate about the topic which made me care about it more. The class was really interesting

Interesting class. A LOT of reading. Like an hour's + worth each week. Every week there's a vague oral quiz based off the readings so if you read it, you will do well. Everyone is put into groups for debates on interesting topics, and these days were the only good days. Every other day was a boring lecture to sit through. Terrible grading system.

Opened my eyes to many ideas. Although some people may think he is biased, he made it clear that he doesn't expect us to believe what he says. He understands that these ideas are not facts and that there are others, which are explained in readings. There is a lot of reading, but he isn't out to get you, so you will do well on quizzes if you read.

This guy is very biased and doesn't really accept any other opinions but his own. It's interesting material, but don't expect a great grade. I just wanted to get my natural science requirement out of the way. I'm glad I took it, because it offered me a unique outlook on life and my purpose in it, but my GPA is gonna take a hit.

Do not take his class - for a very basic, non-science major course this is extremely hard and he is undeniably biased. As others have said if you do not reiterate the exact ideas that he wants you will not do well on the weekly quizzes, ridiculous midterm or final. do not take if you can avoid doing so!!! I worked HARD AND ONLY GOT A B!!!

Sex & Evolution sounded interesting, but was SO boring. Weekly quizzes on TONS of reading were impossible and worth 50% of your grade. You'll only do well on them if you share the same opinions as him-- but you don't know his opinions until after you take the quiz. No makeups on missed quizzes, even if you have an emergency. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!

He's a generally nice guy but a god-awful teacher. Like dear god do not take this class if you have opinions on anything because if you don't agree with him he'll rip you to shreds and if you do agree with him he'll listen for 2 sentences tops then cut you off. Super-specific weekly quizzes on the readings, but he'll give you credit for trying.

He is a nice guy- but did not teach the class very effectively. I had him for sex & evolution, I was taking it for core so low interest to begin with. He does not do anything to make the material more interesting. Gives an insane amount of reading every single week & then a very unfair, specific 4 question quiz on the 35 page reading.

Probably one of my favorite classes. Incredibly interesting teacher. Quizzes everyday are easy to pass if you do the reading and the rest of the assignments like a project and 2 tests are very easy to do. He really made the subject so interesting and enjoyable! Loved having him would take him again in a heart beat! Sex Evolution was the best!

Such an amazing professor. He cares so much about the topic and he made every single class enjoyable and i always left that day thinking about what he talked about. I would absolutely take another class of his. favorite professor of all time, hands down.

Great professor who is easy going, willing to help and able to compromise. Example: the class was able to convince him to cancel because of how nice it was outside. In class: mostly lecture, some videos and a short quiz every week based on the reading from the previous week. One test, 11 chapters from the book, and articles. Def. recommended.

He's a great teacher. He gives you a lot of readings for each week, and then you have to take a quiz after each. As long as you keep doing the reading and try to participate in the discussions, you'll do fine!

Professor Wenkert is an extremely easy professor. Although there's a quiz every week, if you do the assigned readings for the week, they're all easy A's. He's a really boring lecturer, but it's a super easy class if you don't enjoy science at all, like me. I recommend taking him to fulfill your science core.

Crazy Williams Wenkert. He's a good guy, loves the topic which helps learning. He loves twin studies (part of genetics) twins fascinate him, it's a good way to introduce a tangent in class. Helpful, lots of reading quizzes but an overall good class
