Comment:
Kind and knowledgeable professor. He hardly covers anything in class that is on the test. You have to read and truly understand the textbook. There are very few points given in this class, so you must do well on tests and the papers assigned. Good luck... I sure needed it.

I loved Dr. Barnett's class. He actually cares about his students and the material, so his lectures were always my favorite. He applies the content to our everyday lives, which makes it much more interesting. Also, there is hardly any out-of-class work, aside from a few papers here and there. His tests are super easy, and he grades nicely!

Cognitive psychology was definitely one of my most difficult classes taken at Northwest. You MUST read the textbook to pass this class. Barnett is a great professor and clearly cares about what he teaches. The information is somewhat interesting, but you definitely have to work to get a good grade. Cog labs and oral presentation saved my grade.

I took his spring Edu Psychology course and honestly it wasn't that bad. He makes his lectures interesting and there are only three papers and four exams in the class. You definitely have to read the book if you want to pass as well as listen to his lectures though attendance isn't mandatory. Also, he provides study guides for each exam.

I absolutely loved him. He's witty and tells awesome stories. As someone interested in psychology I thought it was easy, you just have to show him that you care. Write like a college student and you'll be fine with the papers. Read the book and take notes.

Dr. Barnett makes ed psych pretty interesting but his tests are very hard. You have to start studying weeks before to do well. His papers are graded tough too. He makes the subject interesting but he expects a lot of his students.

The class is interesting and the work is not impossible, but you better be prepared to teach and re-teach yourself, and don't expect much help from him outside of class. Read the textbook and take good notes because, to be honest, he's not a very pleasant person to talk with when you really need help in the class.

Took Dr. Barnett for Cogn psych. He is a good instructor in class. He provides study guides online. However he struggles using e companion from time to time. He can also be semi-cranky outside of class. Great prof just don't catch him on a bad day. Take this class its extremely interesting and be sure to read the chapters!!

Make sure you attend every single class. He loves using the textbook for multiple choice questions on the tests. Essays are all over class lectures. He grades the 2 papers extremely easily. Recommend Barnett because of his ability to get the point across. He really takes a boring subject and makes it interesting.

I love taking his Education Psychology class. He is a very fun and interesting class. I am struggling with taking his test. The test are very difficult and he is picky when it comes to papers. Even though I am having so much trouble with his class, I would suggest taking his. Just go to class everyday, read your text book, and study.

Kept my interest in every class with his humor, and little facts or studies he always brought in and told us all about. His test are little more difficult, but he will break it down scooby-doo style if information is unclear.

Took his ed psych class a couple years back and his class is much more difficult than the new professors that teach it. I will say that he is a tough teacher and his tests are hard. Lets put it this way. I have only three Cs at NW and he was one of them. Advice is take a different teacher for ed psych.

This was my favorite class. I enjoyed going to class every day. The lectures were interesting and fun. You have to work for your grade, but if you are willing to put in the effort you can get an A. All exams are curved. I learned a ton in this class. He will look over your papers if you turn them in early. GREAT professor.

Excellent professor. My fave in the department. This class is very easy if you come to class everyday and pay attention, read the book, and just try. Anyone who says otherwise prob didn't show up, pay attention, or try. This is a great class and a great professor.

This class is somewhat difficult but it IS an upper level requirement. He is a great professor who is more than willing to answer your questions and help you in any way possible. The tests are difficult but if you read the book, study, and get help when you need it and you will be fine. He always curves his tests. GREAT PROFESSOR.
