Honestly this guy gets a lot of flak, but he is easily the best marker for every coe course. I've hated him in first year and second year because he cant really teach well, but its a long standing tradition to skip coe courses in electrical eng anyways. Just get lecture slides from other profs and your grades will reflect why he is da tru mvp

This guy is so damn smart but is so unorganized. Go to his lectures if you have software trouble, don't be a baby.. go up to him if you have a debugging question. His lecture notes always have mistakes, point them out or else you will fall asleep (no joke). For 538: study lectures and do the labs. The labs will give you anxiety, but an easy course.

A professor for those that have some nascent interest and enjoy asking questions/ discussing material. If you prefer more structure, avoid.

He definitely knows what hes talking about, just VERY disorganized. Labs were terrible this year because they changed the microcontrollers and he didnt update manuals until last weeks. Lectures will make little sense unless you already knew this stuff. He skipped several lectures. Helpful outside of class if you can get a hold of him. Easy marker

Having graduated from the Electrical program years ago, I was very surprised to see the cluster of negative comments around the 04/05 timeframe. Then, remembering who my classmates were I recalled that we had a pair of cheating/scamming students who often used the defense of 'this prof is bad' to cover their failures. Clowes is a good prof.

He is very good in teaching Java. But, I would say only attend his class if you want to learn it in a more advanced environment. If you have no idea about programming, it's better you attend some other professor. Other than that, he is extremely helpful and passionate about subject. He might be bit disorganized but it did not affect me in anyway.

Yes I did rate hot for appearance, aha. Anyway, its obvious he knows a lot of stuff about microprocessors so if you pay attention (means active listening) and be enthusiastic about the course you'll like his teaching style. Espetialy the part about interrupts :).

I liked this prof...the java class was very entertaining. He taught in a casual way, which was easy to understand. Superb help in labs, this guy will teach you how to code if you're willing to listen. However if you never coded java/anything else in your life this class might have a bit of a steep learning curve.

Him and I where good friends, I always remembersd him as one of a kind. Thank you very much Ken for your insight and your great care of your students to achieve.
