Comment:
I recommend not to take any class with him. He is really bad at teaching and he doesn't really care about his class and students. His assignments are confusing and the final exam(50% of total marks) is a nightmare. This is because and exam questions are badly structured and instructions are unclear. I will never take any course with him again.

Shahadat is a tough grader, but a good prof. If you need help, he is always available and will walk you through an assignment/project. I wouldn't take him again as his exam are brutal, but if you study hard and review your content regularly then you will be okay. Also, don't ask for extensions or be rude.. he will make your life hell.

Shahadat is ok. I took 3630 and 4210 with him as well. I appreciated him in 4210 but wasn't a huge fan in the first two. It is hard to follow him in lectures. Sometimes assignments can be ill-defined. Grading for assignments and tests is generally fair, but I would suggest you do your own reading and prep to do well.

Worse prof I've had so far in my university experience. Tough grader, doesn't explain anything related to the assignments in class and relies on "general" knowledge. Assignments are ridiculous and don't make any sense. Even the lab/tut instructor is speechless at times. Avoid at all possibility!

Comment:
He's very organized and tells you exactly what textbook sections are covered in his lectures. He teaches some of the most difficult computer science courses so the assignments and exams are difficult. There are no surprises with him, if you know how to do the assignments then you should have no problem with the exams.

This professor is by far the worst I've encountered in my student life. He is very unorganized, very unprofessional, with horrible time management skills. These qualities are a necessity if you want to become a prof. His lectures are long and boring. He offers very little guidance when to comes to assignments which are quite tough.

Compiler is a tough course. We literally built a real compiler for a high-level language in this course. It may be hard for somebody who is not handy in coding. Though it was a tough course but Dr. Shahadat helped a lot. He gave the skeleton of the phases. We gave life to that.

Dr Shahadat is very organized. He prepared everything for the class and gave everything to be read before tests. Tests were neither too easy nor too hard. His marking was also very good. Gave partial mark on everything.

Worst professor I ever had. His exams are extremely difficult because his questions are very in-depth in much that the textbook or his notes does not even cover. You must already have prior knowledge to do well in his class which is idiotic.

He is not a good prof at all. He does not prepare for class and does not fulfill syllabus requirements. We were supposed to have 3-5 quizzes throughout the semester (2 of which would count for our final grade) and our first quiz was on Nov. 10. He babbles on and mumbles. He forgets what he is talking about by the end of his sentence. Avoid him!!!!!

I usually write these reviews knowing that the prof will read them, and I assume they'll know who's talking smack about them, just to keep me from saying exactly how much I disliked his class. I showed up late every day, so he didn't like me, that's fine, I'm used to that, but even still, beyond that, it was miserable.

This class was made infinitely more difficult because theis professor has the bad habit of mumbling under his breathe and using ums and ahs all the time. He marks extremely harshly and makes questions worth more than they should be just so he can drop your grades. Which will happen!

He is the worst prof in the department. And is very partial in his grading. Gives good marks or even part marks to student he likes but if he does not like you then you are sure gonna lose marks. Assignments are very vague plus like the others said no effective way for studying for his class.Plus tests you for stuff he has not even taught.Avoid him

Doesn't prepare for his lectures so his points come across as vague and half baked. His exams are brutal with lots of trick questions and there is no way to study effectively for them. Plus he is a very difficult marker, expect a full letter grade (or two) drop in your GPA in his class. No listed office hours either. Worst Prof in the department.
