This man is brilliant and if you truly care about learning rather than satisfying your Gen Ed requirement, then take this man's course. Unlike most teachers who lecture endlessly with no student interaction, Dr. Kress uses a socratic style of teaching that will force you to actually think. The class is not difficult if you read. He's funny, too.

He is one of my favorite instructors. If you are taking this course and are truly interested in the World Wars, he is a wealth of knowledge. He does lecture, however he brings the class into the discussion and asked meaningful questions. Do not take him if you are not interested in learning key details, places and people involved in WWI and WWII.

Did not teach anything from the book. Was told to study online multiple choice from book and none of them were on the test. Very rude and not afraid to call you out if you dont know the answer. He expects history to be your whole life. Wish I never took him!

Very cool guy. Quirky but knows his stuff. Learned a lot. Be prepared to read and do some busy work. Nothing difficult- just time consuming. Stay ahead of him to make it easier on yourself. The class is well organized. I'd take him again in a minute.

This guy is a great teacher. He really knows his stuff and like to talk about all things history. I really enjoyed his class and was pissed when i could not get him for US 2. His class does entail a bit of studying and reading but what college class doesn't? If you enjoy History I would recommend taking his class.

Dr. Kress was one of the best teachers I had at Rowan. His class wasn't easy, but I learned a lot. Sure, you have to read the book and prepare, and you have to study, but that's what college is. My only regret is not being able to take more classes with him. I took him for US History 1 and then 2.

I though Dr. Kress' Vietnam class was great! I really learn alot although it was alot of reading and hard work. Doing the research paper for him though is a pain. Makes you do a proposal, outline and bib for it. Got an A, but it was not easy.

This was the most difficult, labor-intensive 101-level history class I have *ever* taken. That said, Dr. Kress loves his subject and is fantastically knowledgeable. It would have been much, much easier if it had been the only thing on my plate. It's not that he doesn't tell you what to study, but that there's just SO MUCH of it. Nice guy, but no.

Although his class wasn't hard, he does expect alot to prepare for test. He has a list of 150 terms and about 10 essay. While on the actual exam there are 5 or 6 terms and 2 essays. If you didnt have 3 other classes in a semester and could do all the unless reading then his class would be easy. He does offer a curve tho.

This was my third (and unfortunately last) time taking Dr. Kress. He's awesome. He doesn't cut anyone any slack, and he shouldn't seeing as how this is college. His tests are essays and IDs, and one 8-10 page paper. Lectures can get a little tiresome, and some of the videos he shows will put you to sleep. But otherwise, he is the man.

He is hard, but an excellent history teacher. I hated history.I told him this and told him I would have a tough time. He said that if he sees that I was trying and showed up/participated, he would pass me. I failed every test with low F's and I walked out with a D because I didn't give up. Now I actually enjoy history and have my books from 1999.

Professor Kress is a great professor! You work for your A! Those who whine about him just don't want to do the work!!! If you actually read the book, it really isn't that hard. Wow! What a concept! You have to actually work for your grade!!!!!

Professor Kress is great! His classes are very interesting. He gives about 130 terms for each exam. Do 5 a day and you'll be ok. Read the book and take notes. Study your notes and terms and you'll do fine. Go on the website like he says and do the practice quizzes and you'll be fine. Just do the work.
