Comment:
I'm not exaggerating when I say this: Brandom is the best professor I've ever taken a class with. His lectures are amazing, I really learned to love philosophy because of him. He's not required to teach undergrad courses, but he still does them anyway because he enjoys it. If you have the opportunity to take any class with him, take it.

Comment:
Breathtaking lectures that illuminate concepts otherwise difficult to distill from the readings. Excellent way of moving through different philosophers and closely following conceptual threads and similar ideas. Unbelievably good at teaching, and really accomplishes something special rarely available in undergraduate courses. HIGHLY recommended.

This was a grad course. Simply inspiring. One of the very best courses I have ever taken. Marvellously clear and insightful lectures. My biggest regret is that I had other things to do, so I didn't get as much out of him as I could have. Doesn't always respond to emails.

Very smart guy, and is reasonably helpful. One problem: His classes are captivating only insofar as you are interested in the material (which I was) these would be aweful classes to go to if you're not really interested in Phil of Mind.

One of the best classes I took at Pitt. Brilliant lectures, made extremely difficult texts accessible. Lectured for 3 hours straight, never taking a break, with no notes - and kept us rapt and listening. Philosophy Story Hour. Great.

This guy is obviously very smart and knowledgable and he will let you know it. very arrogant, somewhat dry. If you have a strong stomach I highly reccomend this class, but he is pretty jerky and you might not want to come all the time, which is crucial to picking up what he's got (plenty).

The best philosophy professor I had at Pitt. I found him to be very intersted in his students and eager to help them to learn. I thought the class was great, and not too hard if you read and study the material.

I swear if you look under his beard, you'll find the cord that he plugs into the wall before he goes to bed at night... he can't be human. Take the class just to laugh at him.
