One of the most useful classes I have taken, largely due to the quality of the professor. Involves real-world companies with current problems, and his brutal honesty always keeps lectures relevant and entertaining. He will be retiring soon, but I would strongly recommend taking one of his classes if you get the chance.

He's a great professor. His lectures are interesting and well paced with tons of interesting stories and videos. He gives weekly reading and geography quizzes which aren't bad but do mean you have to read your books, however his exams only cover his lectures. If your at all interested in marketing I would strongly recommend him.

Professor Rudolph was great! He was absolutely hilarious and that made the class fly by. He gave a lot of great examples for each concept being covered. He showed some pretty interesting videos as well. This professor is extremely experienced and knowledgeable in the field of marketing. Take him if you get the chance!

This professor is very blunt, rude, and borderline offensive. On the other hand he is realistic and very honest. In this class you can real marketing exposure by visiting actual companies and you are treating like a consultant. The project and exam is a breeze. Would take again. BTW, You won't use the book at all.

Funniest prof ever. Cynical, real, honest, blunt, good class, interesting personality. I learned quite a bit from him, i love how he ripped on GR even though its my hometown. Good stories, swears alot, tries to communicate how imporatnt marketing is if you want to be successful internaionally.

If you have any other classes that require alot of work DON'T take this one. He assigns 3 chapters a week and the textbook is unreadable. The professor spends the class bragging about his travels and the trouble you can get into with marketing but doesn't tell you how to overcome them. This is the first class I've taken that I've truely hated.

Very difficult class. Prof is funny, but also quite pompus and arrogant. He shows huge preference for international students and is generally quite rude to American students. However, he is very knowledgable, and you will learn a lot. Work load is HEAVY. Gives weekly quizzes on several chapters of books, and tests on lectures.

This class stunk. It is a bit difficult because he talks so fast it's hard to keep up with your notes, exams are completely over the notes and there are two quizzes every week one on geography and one on the reading out of two different books.. questions are so random. Exams are all essay and at least 10 questions on each exam! Don't take!

Class is 95% case studies with real business professionals. Kept it interesting, but didn't learn anything new about marketing. Tells good stories, but isn't very clear on his expectations. I think the lowest grade he gives is a B.

I've taken him before I love him! He is a great professor that tells you like it is. Take a lot of notes, exams are off notes, essay style. He brings in a lot of local companies for marketing cases. There is a lot of reading though but if you know anything about marketing you can get by without reading for the quizzes.

Could not stand this class. He was totally full of himself and his life travels and didn't teach the subject. The grading for the class is completely subjective and you'll never really know why you got the grades you did. Be prepared for two quizzes a week and TONS of reading!!!!! Wouldn't suggest taking this class unless you have to.

Ugh. It isn't that your answers are wrong on the exam, they're just not what he's looking for. Seriously?? 10 short answers that have no real right answers, he's just asking you to regurge class discussions. Liked the set up of class, though-brought in mkt people w/ mkt probs for us to solve. VERY cynical and profane, though.

Ben is an amazing prof! He captures your attention with real life examples. This capstone was mainly case intensive, very helpful for the real world of mkt. Honestly the best prof at GVSU, I've taken him twice, and I would take him again if I could! Read and take good notes, his exams are essays only. If you like Ben, try taking Cotter too!

Uninteresting reading, doesn't apply to lectures. The man is crude and rude. Dropped the F Bomb over 10 times in class so far. Just Rude. Brags about his travels. Lectures get off topic easy. Hard to listen to and follow. Tests are all essay. Hard to study for when have no notes b/c his lectures are so off topic. Would not recommend. READ

Overall, not a bad class. He's fun, engaging, and has a lot of neat stories that can tie everything in. He's very knowledgable about the subject matter, and has personal experience. The only problem was the exams/tests/quizzes. It's hard to know what to study. There's so much materiel to cover, and there aren't any hints as to what to study.

Couldn't keep up with this class. Like the prof, but he doesn't stick to teaching relevant information at all. You read chapters (and TONS of them) on your own and are expected to just understand them without him talking about them. Be prepared for LOTS of reading every week!
