Dr. Gedge was my student teaching mentor. She was tough because she has VERY high expectations. So high that even she doesn't always understand what she is asking of you (not being sarcastic). You must juggle your field work with weekly meetings and readings. Don't skip these. She is great, but this is tough. Learn from her! She knows her stuff.

Worst professor Ive ever had. Made a class environment where you didnt feel comfortable asking questions because you knew she would be rude with her answer. Was very sarcastic and immature. Would never take a class of hers again made kids feel stupid and also had a few times where she put someone elses grade in for mine. Should be rated a 2 or 1

She is not helpful when you come to her with questions, very critical of students and makes the whole class not want to be there. She is a very tough grader and I will NEVER take one of her classes again

first off idk how she has a 3.6 rating it should be a 2.0. Horrible proffeser pushes her political views on the class. Also she is always right and the student can not question her. Otherwise she will grade you'r papers harder. Just sit in the class and don't talk.

I honestly believe that she is the worst professor at this university. She is so close minded it is insane. she is horrible teacher she assigns things and expects you to figure it out on your own. if you ask any questions she gos what would Matt Saunders say.

Professor Gedge is a horrible professor, does not know how to lecture just goes on and on about her views and everything you the student says is worng in comparison to her. Doesnt grade your assignments the whole class is a guessing game. Class was the biggest waste of my 3 hours once a week I have ever had. Also never lets you give an opinion.

Dr. Gedge is a very nice lady but her lectures can be very boring. The class is not a lot of work and there are no tests. The class makes you think about a lot of relevant and heavy topics. Dr. Gedge really cares about her students doing well and goes out of her way to help if you're struggling.

I did not directly have Dr. Gedge for student teaching, however her input and help was always very insightful and helpful. She's always open to discussion and will go out of her way to help you succeed if you ask for help.

Dr. Gedge is a very nice women who cares a lot about history, however she lets her views get in the way in the classroom and if you don't see things the same way that she does than you are simply wrong. She also seems to think her class is the only one your taking, giving you a crazy amount of work. If you're not a history major I don't recommend.

Dr. Gedge is very nice. She expects you to put in a lot of work for her class. There are no tests, but she requires that you read analytically and critically to complete a lengthy journal entry each week which can be very time consuming. She is a tough grader and wants her students to be very specific in their responses, but is willing to help.

Took for a writing emphasis, regretted it at first bc I know nothing about history. However Prof Gedge is extremely nice, and makes boring topics interesting. She makes it relatable to non-history majors. As the class goes on you actually are surprised at your own improvement. Strict on clarity of points in papers, not super strict on grammar.

This course was designed to be more of a discussion, so the class time flew by quickly. There are readingsassignments due every class, and this is a very work-heavy course, but if you do the homework on time, show up to class, and participate, you will be successful. She is a tough yet fair grader, but she just wants to see her students succeed.

Dr. Gedge is an extremely helpful person, but sometimes not always clear on deadlines. Which, I guess, works because she's generally not going to take off points for lateness, but make sure you turn in your work. She's patient but everyone has their limits. Class was interesting, get ready for a heavy load of watching videosreading.

I took this class to count for my diversity credit. It was a lot of work but I enjoyed coming to class and taking part in the discussions. Dr. Gedge is very helpful and is willing to work with the students to make sure they do their best. More people who are not history or women's studies majors.

DR GEDGE CHANGED MY LIFE. One of the best teachers at WCU. She demands you read, write, and speak, and yes, she has standards, but wow--she opens your mind to so much. She is amazing. Very friendly as well and full of knowledge. I love her teaching style. You will not regret taking her if you want to learn and you are READY TO WORK. :)

Passionate, dedicated, and thorough, Dr. Gedge knows what she is talking about and will help you become successful. She expects the best from you and you better give it if you want to earn an A. Classes with her are intense, but you will walk away having learned something.

I love this woman. You can tell that she's really into history and she is very helpful. The class requires a lot of reading and writing, so it's definitely not something you wanna take if you wanna avoid that, but she doesn't give tests and her classes are mostly discussion based. And again, she's just generally pretty cool.I definitely recommend her
