Comment:
The guy has horrible zoom lectures. He just reads what he is writing but we can barely understand half of what he is saying through the zoom call. He won't take the time to have a zoom session with students if you have any questions regarding the content in the class. Shame, because the content does seem interesting and useful.

Extremely arrogant and condescending individual. Lectures are standard - write on the board, leave. Does provide help in office hours. However, his personality and attitude towards students is so bad that you truly can't stand the man. Run. This is coming from a straight A student.

One of those classes that made me question the reason I'm at university. Incapable of teaching properly with so many off-topic statements. Avoid if you can.

The man is clearly very intelligent and very respected in his field, and holds people to very high standards. Doesn't know a lot about some of the things he spends half the class commenting about (current events, politics, controversial topics etc). Go to class and take notes and you'll get an A+. Nice guy in office hours. Don't take Math Econ 2.

The worst prof I've had in my time at the University of Ottawa, and I'm in my senior year. He does not post any slides , and he won't use the textbook because he legit thinks he's smarter than the textbook. I've done the content previously in micro-eco. and thank God I did. He doesn't convey the same material well at all. Overall a very lazy prof

This guy barely teaches the material. Instead he prefers to rant about the most irrelevant topics (such as black on black crime rates) and forces you to agree with him. His writing is incredibly sloppy and he constantly rushes. For someone who claims to be an expert in game theory I have yet to see him display any expertise in the field.

This guy doesn't know the material he's supposed to teach and it shines through when he goes off on tangents and wastes his time on non-material related opinions. He's supposed to teach wolfram mathematica and spends more time explaining how to zoom in on the text or how to input text editting than the functionality of the software itself.

One of those professors you neve forget, due to both his intellect and his sense of humor. There was a term project that counts for 80% of the course. So, getting your topic early helps. Talk to him, but don't expect him to decide for you, as he really encourages exploration. As long it reflects the material covered in the course, you have passed!

If you want a class where you get to see sloppily written and nonsensical math all over the board, this is the class for you. However, the course revolves around the use of mathematica, which makes the class bearable. The prof is hilarious though, so many random stories that will make you laugh and further confuse you.

If you've taken Micro 2 and Macro 2 already, then your set. The whole course will pretty much be a review of those two. If you haven't, or you're simply not that good at math, then good luck. Also basically spends the whole course teaching us how to do problems in Mathematica. Learned nothing new.

I found him to be a good economist/mathematician... teacher.. not so much. But he makes up for it big time by having very predictable exams. Gives complete solutions to assignments and is very available to explain practically anytime. In the first class, he promised everyone a B+ if we do assignments right. A bit strange, but incredibly smart.

What a guy! His class is really entertaining. Half of his lectures is really hard math problems and the rest of it is freakonomic type rants. His classes are always hard, but you might just learn something.

This professor showed no interest in teaching and has no respect for others. His comments about religions, races, and women are very offensive. The University of Ottawa should find a more competent professor to teach a graduate level. Is is why we pay to go to grad school?
