Comment:
Ravetch is a good lecturer and engaging but the way he grades is super harsh for no reason. He's also really unclear about what he wants for assignments and homework and will then dock you points for not doing things that he didn't clarify. In person he's cool but honestly this class isn't hard but he makes it more difficult for his students

What a gem! Ravetch will always be one of the best professors I have ever encountered. He made accounting fun... wait is that even possible? Yes! He is that good! One of the most memorable experiences at ucla was his class.

Took 2 classes and he is the reason I am not a CPA. Guess what? I shouldnt be a CPA. Hes easily the best professor you can get in any subject. Why? Because he will be passionate, do everything he can to help you learn, and he will teach you how to be great. If you want to fck around, go take someone else's class. I got A- and C for 1A and 120A.

Very difficult tests that challenge you to fully grasp the material. Really cares about student learning as opposed to getting grades. Very funny and encourages students to seek his help outside of class.

Definitely makes you work for the grade but his classes teach you more than you would learn with any other professor in any other accounting class. One of the few professors at UCLA who has a real passion for teaching and ensures that his students are well equipped to handle anything.

He is really a good professor!---good at assigning homework and giving exam. You really learn a lot from this class!---learn everything by yourself, at home!!! The worst teacher I have ever encountered because he doesn't really teach. I never blame a professor for workload or exam difficulty but I just cannot tolerate that I can't learn in class

Prof. Ravetch is hard, but his lectures are entertaining and clear. He is one of the reasons why I am now a CPA. If you complain about him being hard, you don't know what hard is.

I wish I can say I got something out of this professor, but I didn't. I was unlucky to have him twice for 1B and 120B. He seems like the only bad apple in the accounting department as he has the lowest curves and teaches the least, instead he tries to give inspirationalmessagesorsmallchitchattopics.Overall,Iwishrecruitersnoticehowhard buttheydidnt

Professor Ravetch teaches the BEST online math review course. I was skeptical at first because 1) I've been out of school for 11 years, 2) math isn't my strong subject/interest and 3) didn't have good experience with online classes before. Prof. Ravetch is an EXCELLENT teacher. Great sense of humor and v. engaging.

Really entertaining and energetic. And funny! He puts for extra effort covering difficult concepts and doesn't waste time with useless material. He is extremely helpful and open-minded when answering questions. He never made me feel stupid, which all my other professors have done. I'm slow. You don't have to rub it in my face!

Had him in early 2000, egomaniacal and really full of himself. Had a reputation for teaching EVERY class like you're trying to become a CPA, this was supposed to be entry-level accounting! Proud to say I managed to start and currently run a very successful company without his influence--there are better profs out there.

I had Professor Ravetch back in the late '90s and absolutely loved his class. His lectures are engaging, entertaining and interactive. I have never worked as a professional accountant, but I have found myself recalling skills and concepts I learned in his class on multiple occasions over the last decade. Glad to see he's still around.

People give Ravetch a hard time because he's challenging and you have to work hard to get a good grade in his class, but he's one of the best professors I've ever had at UCLA. I'm taking all my future accounting classes from Ravetch.

Take it from an alumni, Prof. Ravetch's class is the most memorable you will have at UCLA. Get to know him and get involved in the accounting assoc. You'll be so prepared for the real world. And, I say this 10 years later.
