Comment:
This man is awful. I had a fellow african canadian student in class and he told them that they way they talked wasn't right. That they should have a New Orleans accent. Who does this guy think he is. Would not recommend him. By all means avoid taking his class.

Comment:
After teaching Othello he thought his comment "A black man and an Italian woman can't work. Even today white people just don't like black people deep down." was appropriate. He didn't even teach Othello and used a diagnostic test for Shakespeare. I would never recommend taking his class.

He's just a bad teacher. Period. He's not good at what he does. His marking of essays is very hard, i don't know why he distributes so many poor grades.

very bad teacher, i would not take his class again, his standards are very high, especially for entry level english students. He has unreasonable expectations, and seems somewhat close minded.

Traficante does have trouble staying focused during lectures, however you can tell he really cares about his students and their learning. I went to his office a lot of times for help on writing essays, and he always ended up writing the introduction for me, and giving me lots of ideas for topics. Definetely go ask him for help!

Fairly nice guy and seems to like teaching. I hate english and everything about it but i will try and to stay unbiased. He marks quite hard and has a tough time finishing his thoughts and doesn't use class time well. I hardly ever paid attention and did not read many works. Tests were very hard and class avg was quite low 25/35 or so failed midterm

Comment:
Some people are so disrespectful in his class. It's disgusting how some people treat him just because he doesn't have a very authoritative approach to teaching. Anyway, he's very nice and helpful, and if you're there to learn, you will. He encourages interesting class discussions about the literatur in class, which makes it more fun and exciting.

Not a bad teacher but I had trouble paying attention in class because everything we discussed somehow ended up with him talking about his favorite wine or pasta dish. And for a childern's Lit major, he dosen't seem to know any that I had to read in english.

He is a bad prof no doubt. He marks way to hard and just tries to impress his students by talking about all old books and poems no one cares about.

Very enthusiatic about his literature, but his drawback lies in that he assumes those that are not from Canada or do not have an English background cannot have good English. Hard marker. Difficult to understand with his Italian accent.

He is a very hard marker and often goes off-topic during lectures. Seems to want to make an impression on young lives giving life-lessons during class instead of focussing on the literature.
