I found her so difficult to understand and that she did not communicate information well. She also went so fast, and for someone who is bad at science, made it so much more difficult. I also found class boring and noticed she would get mad and frustrated when we did not know the answer.

Hard class if you're not into science. I swear a lot of her tests questions weren't even discussed in class. People who are good at biology will do great, but if you're like me and the opposite of a science major than it will be hard, but read the book because it helps a lot. BTW she calls everyone rude and her outbursts when people talk is funny

Deleon is meh. Her lectures are a rehashing of exactly what's in the textbook, and she tends to repeat exactly what she said a sentence before, only rewording herself. Pretty boring, unengaging lectures, but the course isn't too hard as it's a 100-level.

Dr. DeLeon has had many years of experience in the field, and she is extremely knowledgable. She's also really passionate about Biology, which made the long lectures easier to attend. Sometimes she gets confused reading off her own powerpoint, but she's old, so I'll give her a pass! Collects homework at beginning of class and lectures posted online

Professor DeLeon is super passionate about biology and human heredity, but if you are not really into science, I would not recommend taking this course, because it can get a little confusing at times.

Smart women. Not a good professor. Very defensive when ask her ?'s. Reads off ppts and confuses herself sometimes giving wrong info. Exams are tough and have several ?'s never discussed in class. She assigns HW from book, which is similar to exams, but never spends time to go over answers. Worst thing is she doesn't post any grades on Sakai.

Really helpful to print out the lecture outline and use it throughout the course. Sometimes she doesnt include things in the outline but puts it on the powerpoint, and sometimes the powerpoint material turned up on tests. In the beginning she told us her grading scale, which was different than how she actually graded. DO HW, they appear on TEST!

A tough teacher! She definitely knows her stuff, but don't dilly dally in this class. It'll probably be one of your top priorities because the tests and material are so hard!! I wouldn't take this class again but she is a knowledgeable teacher and willing to help her students

DO NOT take this class unless you are required to. 2 exams are 20% of your grade, 1 exam is 25% percent of your grade, and the cumulative final is 35% of your grade. The homework is optional; but if you do it, she will bump your grade up. Her grading scale is approximately a letter above (a 79 is a B). READ THE TEXTBOOK! She is very confusing.

I took this class because it was required, it was awful. Do not participate in class, she will remember you and call on you again and again. She has you hand in homework on Tuesday which helped me understand but they do not count towards your grade. Her grading scale is confusing. Reads off the slides, overall very poor teacher but clearly smart.

Honestly, took this class because of my Early Childhood Education requirement. She is awful. She has the heaviest Jamaican accent ever. She reads directly off the slides. Homework is not graded but you should definitely do it because then she's more understanding and empathetic. She's sweet and willing to help but jeez is she a God awful teacher.

BISC105 made me hate biology even with a background. I attended almost all sessions and did every assignment. Not helpful. Lectures consisted of her reading off of a power point and occasionally giving out useless information that was never on the exams. Exams were ridiculous, including the trick questions, even if you know the information well.

DON'T TAKE. The material insanely hard for a 100-level course, and she is an awful professor. Difficult to understand and will not/cannot adequately explain the material so that people who aren't EXTREMELY interested in this topic can understand it. 3 very difficult tests make up your entire grade in addition to a cumulative final-no study guide.

I adored this class. Her accent can be a bit confusing and she can get impatient but she really knows what she's talking about. I excelled in this class, but I was also very interested and understood it. However, she reviews the homework so you get the right answers which are very helpful to study for tests from.

She is a real sweet lady and you can tell she knows what she's talking about. She's really nice and will always try to hep you from my experience anyways. That being said her class is very hard. I would stay away unless your actually interested in genetics.

great teacher. puts lectures on sakai. homework isnt mandatory, but if you do it, it will help you prepare for exams. plus, if you do the homework, she will bump up your grade at the end of the semester if you are inbetween letter grades. she has a jamacian accent but she is not difficult to understand at all. interesting class, study for exams

She's a tough teacher, but very knowledgable. Make sure you do the homework because they help so much, especially on tests. I also recommend attending class because you get confused when you miss. Hard class, tough tests, lots of studying, but not too bad if you do the work.

Her class was great! She is a phenomenal teacher, and while the course material is a little bit hard to understand, she makes it easier and tries to help everyone get an A. I would highly recommend her! She gives extra credit on every test too!
