Peters class was by far one of my favourites Ive taken at UVic. Not only does he make class super enjoyable and comfortable, but he also really cares about students and their mental health. Hes kind and attentive and has you find a lot of passion for both theatre and your sense of self. Could not recommend him more

Peter is awesome! His dad jokes are a tad dry, but they tend to always get a laugh or two! He creates an amazing space in the class and allows for a great learning environment.

This class was by far my favourite class I have taken at uvic! At first, Peter comes off as a bit intimidating but that's only to make sure everyone in the class is serious about participating! I was a bit scared going in this class because I was not a theatre major but he makes the class be as supportive and encouraging as possible.

Peter is one of the best profs I have ever had. He really cares about his students by making a stress free, fun environment where students are able to talk about their personal lives. Peter pushes you to try go out side of your comfort zone making you learn a lot; however, he is a bit of a tough grader. You have to put in the effort.

HE IS A GEM. I was lucky enough to take 2 classes with him, and I wish I could take more. If you are trying to choose between 102 and 122, I recommend 122 HANDS DOWN. While both were great classes, 122 was a very unique experience. We were put into vulnerable positions on a regular basis so we became family (in an awesome way) Thank you Peter!!! :)

Peter McGuire is a fantastic professor. To tell you the truth, I have not learned as much from any other professor. Theatre is about emotions and life, and Theatre 122 certainly focuses on them. A very open forum that encourages class discussion and really focuses on individual feelings You will learn so much about life - Universities need Peter!

One of the most supportive teachers I've ever had. He was there for me when I needed help with course material and when I just needed someone to talk to. His compassionate approach to students is key. I learned A LOT about directing too.

Peter made me believe that I could do anything in theatre. He saved me at a time when I thought I had to give up for ever. His classes are insightful, fun, and while there is a big analysis, if you like the play you've chose, it hardly seems like work at all!

Peter is a wonderful person. He does truly care about all his students. He is a little... interesting at times... believes talking about movies we say on the weekend and such is really making a difference in our acting skills etc etc... the class is not really acting. BE FOREWARNED: Is mostly just talking about your feelings. But, it was really fun

Peter is truly the best professor I've had... He's nice, caring, understanding, and completely approachable. I would take one of his classes even if I wasn't interested in the topic. He is certainly inspirational, and clearly cares for his students on a personal level. Anyone would love him both as a professor and as a friend.

Great guy. If he teaches it, take it. I really recommend THEA 122 for those who are a little nervous about acting in front of people, or who are doing it for the first time. He really brings people together and makes everyone in the class feel really comfortable. If you do the stuff, you're pretty much guaranteed an A.
