Comment:
Grade is solely on your TA. They grade papers HARD for everyone. Easy final that is graded leniently by TAs. This prevents curving. Prof Edwards was very good - funny, respectful of different beliefs (we talk religion and politics), and obsessed in his laser. A little dry, but if you like to read the classics, he's good. Would take again for sure.

Lectures are often on the dry side. Always download the lectures before so you can reference it while he's speaking. Essay topics are very specific, but grades and other concerns are usually handled by the TA. Pick a good TA!

lectures are super boring and monotone. TA decides your grade in the end. essay topics are okay. if you write 4 pages every time you will get at least a C. you are guaranteed to pass as long as you turn in every paper.

He's a really easy professor if you just go to his lectures and do his readings. The final is based SPECIFICALLY off his lectures, so take good notes. Final is EXTREMELY easy. Readings are interesting as well. His lectures are also well-structured so their very easy to follow.

His lectures are structured nice. Easy to follow. However, the subject of his lectures are tough to grasp and comprehend. They are mind-opening and interesting though. Good selection of texts. Essays/quizzes are based on your TA. Hard A but I managed.

EXCELLENT professor!! Extremely approachable person! Highly recommend his office hours. Lectures are captivating (even for a math major like myself). His lectures have excellent structure and organization, but you MUST!! attend class and write down as much as you can because his final is entirely dependent on lectures.

This is HUM and the standard disclaimers (TA, hard, etc) apply. He has outlines of his talk so it's somewhat easier to follow. He does allow advertising in class. Final is based off lecture notes primarily (yikes!) Prompts were relatively confusing, but apparently other people disagree.

Professor Edwards is a great professor. He is very clear and perceptive. He makes eye opening connections and time goes by quickly. The final was fairly straight forward. Essays are what kills you. Beware of fluctuations between grades of TAs. If you get lucky, you might get an "easier" TA. All in all, great class. Would recommend.

Hum is just a hard class, but I did relatively okay compared to what I thought I would get. His lectures are kind of boring, but his final is based completely off his lectures. If you take good notes and listen in class, you'll be fine for the final. The essays were kind of hard for me, but that's probably just because I'm not a hum major.

Great professor for an extremely difficult writing class. Interesting lectures but if social sciences and English are not your thing then you just won't enjoy this class. Essay prompts seemed to be easier to write about than the other professor. Overall, highly recommended.

Professor Edwards is the best Hum 1 teacher EVER! He is extremely approachable outside. I have never fallen asleep in his class (& I fall asleep in every class) because his lectures are so interesting. His essay prompts are fun compared to the other teachers. His last (best) lecture showed the bigger picture and inspired people to continue in Hum.

Professor Edwards is really helpful. Hum is just hard and your grade basically depends on your TA's grading of your essays. but the final was made my the prof and it was extremely reflective on what he taught! he's very nice and approachable, and you can actually stay awake in his class

Tony Edwards was a very laid-back, concerned with the students learning and very interesting. His subject is not the most interesting one by he makes it interesting with how he displays the info. His lectures consist of him stating a thesis at the beginning. Then he works, tells stories etc. to prove his thesis correct. Take him for Hum 1

Edwards is the best Hum teacher ever! His lectures are boring, but his slide shows help a lot when it comes to the final. He lectures in the style of an essay, with an intro, arguments and evidence, and a conclusion. Essays are ok but it really depends on your TA.

He may not be very good at making students enthusiastic about the material, but if you listen carefully, this man has great insights. He does have high expectations, but he is realistic about what students can do. I look forward to more LTLA classes with him.
