WORST EXPERIENCE AT MILLS. She will talk down to you & actually relate you to a 1st grader. She grades SUPER unfairly (I caught her not even reading my essays) & tends to pick on select people. She won't help you when you ask for clarification. No study guide or idea of whats on exams. Bad distribution of material. Nice person--not a great teacher.

To be honest, most lectures in the class consisted mostly of stories about her grandson. Other than her stories, lectures were completely useless because you could just read the book and just show up for the tests. The work in her class seemed more about quantity rather than quality.

Comment:
Carol George was rude and condescending. She once snapped at me in a very unprofessional way. While I appreciate professors who are demanding, she was not always particularly clear about her expectations and seemed annoyed if you tried to ask her to explain anything or get help. Avoid taking her classes if at all possible.

I dreaded taking her class because of all the horrible things I've heard. She actually wasn't that BAD after all. She is extremely picky with APA. Her first exam was terrible. After the first exam, I did great b/c I knew what she expected. Read the entire book word for word. Make outlines. Use online tool. I am NOT a psych major btw! Learned alot!

She is a hard Prof. to figure out. I was excited about taking this class. I have learned alot. However, she is more concerned with writing style than content. As someone said- she's to passive aggressive--Ditto. I will not be taking her again!

She's tough. It took me some time to figure out just what she wanted. With that said, I learned SO much in this class. You need to KNOW the book with her. I recommend making outlines with summaries in your own words of all the terms and ideas. Also, pay attention and participate in class. You will learn a LOT there. Don't be afraid, she's nice.

She makes it harder and more complex than it needs to be. No, she is not being condesending...her voice is just like that. When it comes to being helpful, she does the least she can for you. Save yourself some time and figure it out on your own.

She knows the material. However, wrkld is considerable & may be exhausting for students w/a job or more than 4 courses, etc. Extremely critical grader--concerned w/style as much (or more so) than content.

Her class is intense, and she's probably one of the hardest graders at Mills. However, she's so enthusiastic about the topic! I think she's a great professor, if a bit tough.

Carol George refers to fetuses as babies, which is incorrect and offensive. I wrote an email to her about a certain assignment and she didn't answer any of my questions, but instead repeated the same instructions that had confused me in the first place.
