In my opinion the worst professor at RVC. He is so rude when responding to students and thinks that his class is the only one you are taking. Grades everything very tough and will always try to find something wrong you did with every assignment. He is not understanding towards anything that may happen in your personal life while taking his class.

I do not suggest taking him in an online course. He does not give very much time to get assignments done. Almost like he assumes his class is the only class you are taking. He grades very specifically and tends to take points off for the littlest things and tends to be condescending. Overall his class is easy though if you have the time.

I appreciate that he responds to emails very quickly and is always happy to give feedback. He does seem to take off points for small things sometimes, but usually, his grading is fair. He has a clear schedule and the assignments are consistent. However, expect to watch hour-long videos every week. So plan ahead! Overall happy with his online class.

This guy is terrible! He has no communication or social skills. He acts like his students are in middle school. His lectures are terrible. He does not like questions, he does not like a challenge. I'm a 4.0 student and he was so disrespectful and condesending if I asked anything! I have never in my life seen an instructor so rude to everyone!

Despite his tenure, he has a lot to learn. Hatten is ignorant, so you need to be patient with him. His ignorance is paired with frustration because he illogically organizes the assignments and handouts. He is unprofessional and childish. His behavior is unacceptable, and he provides a negative learning environment.

The class work is very easy even though he calls you out for coming in late or doing things wrong. Hatten pretty much acts like a high school teacher. He is very rude when you ask simple questions about workouts or your logs. Overall the work is super easy just prepare to be disrespected almost everyday.

Horrible towards students. Disrespectful if u try to ask questions or discuss a topic. Especially if u know about health/sport/fitness already. Always sorta angry. Classes are easy but his way is the only way(even when wrong). Grades writing tougher than an English professor but doesn't seem to understand complex writing styles? Avoid at all costs!

Worst person and professor at RVC. His attitude and behavior towards students is unacceptable. His knowledge is not very extensive either. As long as you stay quiet and do the exercises just as he teaches (incorrectly) you will be fine.

Dr. Hatten does not look down students. He simply does not have patience for people who clearly are not putting in effort. He expects you to be able to think and figure things out with out having it spelled out to you, just like your boss and real life after college will. I enjoyed his class and the real life experience he shared during class.

I didn't enjoy my class with Mr. Hatten. He was very condescending and acted more like a high school coach than a college professor. He was helpful for the most part, but I just am not a fan of him as a person. He needs to lighten up.

Very helpful man and has answered all of my questions and concerns. Doesn't take too kindly to late and absent people, so attend all classes! Kind of condescending, but do what you're supposed to! Recommend him. Can't thank him enough for the small progress I've made in class. If you're serious about being fit, take him!

Unenlightened and uninspired teacher. Condescending and impatient with students. For someone who has a Ph.D, he is rude and disrespectful. I would expect more. He is anti-strength and will yell at you if you are lifting an extremely heavy weight. Teaches the deadlift incorrectly, as I have trained with USA powerlifters and know better. Worst CSCS!

good class, smart instructor. But beware has a PHD and knows it. Exams & quizes can be tricky, know your stuff just one word changes meanings, very detailed on all essay questions

Did not appreciate the sarcasm and negativity when asking questions. Answered questions online quickly, but always seemed put off, and disgruntled. Had a frequent tendency to look down at students for asking questions. Do not recommend. Kind of a jerk class was easy so were tests if you showed up.

I took Dr Hatten for an online course during the summer. I found that he answered questions when I asked, usually within a few hours. The work load was heavy, but with a shorter summer semester, it is expected. I have actually decided to take another class of his this fall. Again, if you ask for feedback, he was willing to help!! I would suggest!

Worst professor I have ever had. I took him for a summer semester online class. He explains nothing well but says you can ask him questions and then treats you like you are stupid for asking. You have to be online everyday. Hes very hard. Do not take him.
