My husband just quoted Dr. Lindley. We graduated in 2003 and 2004. I was so proud! How do you know what you know if you dont question or explore. Thank you Dr. Lindley for the inspiration!

He does not know how to work the D2L website. He does not put much effort into the online class. Since the website is very poorly organized it is easy to miss assignments. I would not recommend taking his online class.

I'm not sure how his face to face class is, but he didn't really seem to put too much effort into the online course. Discussion posts were required, but he didn't grade them himself. He used chat logs taken from prior semesters. The class isn't difficult if you do your assignments, but I wouldn't count on getting much help or feedback.

This class had a lot of busy work, lots of quizzes, discussions, and assignments. If you stay on top of the work, you will make an A. He uses a point system for final grade. I worked ahead a little and had enough points to make an A without having to do the last few assignments. His midterm and final are comprised of quizzes from the semester.

A lot of quizzes, I think there were only two exams. Midterm and Final. You do need to participate in discussions. Make sure you buy the rolling stone book! The whole last unit is based off of that book, and it's not complicated at all. I think he gave our class a curve at the end of the semester! Good Luck (:

Not a very interesting class. TONS of work (quizzes, short answer, discussions) to do. Takes FOREVER to respond to e-mails. Doesn't update blackboard for new semester, still had a previous semesters due dates up. Missed some assignments because it wasn't where it was supposed to be on the website, poorly organized.

he was alright, i took him during winter mini '12 and it was A LOT of work in such a small amount of time. he wants discussions and you cant just bs it. tests arent that hard if you know what you're doing. i had no idea what i was talking about most of the time but got an A and was top 5% of my class, im not that bright of a person either.

I am taking this course as an online class, and the work load for this online class is extreme! The instructions and due dates for assignments are not clear..I'm hoping I can pass this class with at least an B.

If you must take Dr. Lindley, please find a way to take him on campus. It felt, to our class, that he didn't have any concern for his online class at all. Emails went without response for weeks (a month, once, for me), and he became irritable with students having "technical problems." The class was a relatively easy A, but not worth the hassle.

A lot of chances to get extra credit. Took online, didn't participate in e.c. and still got an A. There are a couple of essays and a LOT of work, quizzes, and discussions that have to be done. I had something due just about every day of the week even the weekends. But if you stay ahead, it doesn't get bad. Good teacher.

I took his class online during the May mini 2012 semester. The reason everyone says his class is hard is because he EXPECTS YOU TO DO THE WORK. I did the work an hour before the due time and I still made an A. He is very nice and I would take him again if I had to. And he does answer his cell if you need him.

Took the class online - it's not impossible to do well, but you're pretty much on your own. He doesn't know how to operate blackboard and has assignments on their from old semesters, has assignments misnumbered and out of order. It's VERY confusing what is due and when and he takes forever to respond to emails/calls.

This class was terrible. Do not take Neil Lindley. He may know a lot about philosophy but doesn't have a clue how to teach it online. Tons of work. No instruction. He doesn't not respond to emails, and he likes to brag about his credentials. Find some else to take this course from if you want to have a life, outside of philosophy.

Attendance is mandatory and there is a quiz at the end of every class. All work besides the in class quizes is online. So essentially it's a online course eventhough you have to show up everyday. He doesn't do the online grading himself though. The whole class is based on a points system not letter grades. You do have to put in work to make a A.

Took this class online. Heard so many things about him, so I recommend taking him online. He does give a lot of work, but it's your choice to do it.The short answer quizzes are easy, because the answers are in order in whatever you have to read. Mid Term and final is all your quizzes jammed together. Point system 2701=A! easy A!

Be prepared to treat this class as 2 classes. The lecture is just him talking and you have a daily quiz worth 40 points. But the down fall is that you have online homework at least 3 times a week. Your grade is based on a point scale and not an average of grades. It is an easy A if you just do all of the online hw and show up to class everyday.

was a NIGHTMARE! If you want to talk to him you need to meet him @ class at 6:30 AM, Im serious! I had to e-mail him 5 times, call him, leave notes and VM. And STILL had to go to the dept. Wish Id seen his bad rating prior. Very rude, syllabus is 21 pgs. makes it difficult 2 keep up with work, bc its all over the place & super detailed!

he is an awesome teacher. being in his class everyday is not needed if you miss 2 or 3 you will be fine just make sure you get the notes! you do need the two books(roll away the stone & ways of knowing) he is very interesting & gives plenty of chances to get extra credit so if you do fall behind don't worry. DO ALL HOMEWORK!!!!!

Hard at first but I learned a tremendous amount from this class. The Prof was wonderful and even though the work was a lot, it was well worth it. The grader on the other hand seemed to be vague and graded depending on his mood. I would take this Professor's class again if I had to take the class again.
