Comment:
Professor Werner may be an acquired taste: I do know that, as a student, I enjoy lecture style classes a lot more than most people. However, I hold Werner in such a high regard because he actively cares about his students. He knows his stuff, and is open to helping you through topics and philosophies. Werner is the best profs I've ever had.

His classes are always a great way to knock out an extra credit hour if you need it. Easy enough as long as you show up, do the work and study a little for the two exams, and the subject matter is always interesting enough for a short-term course.

I've taken a couple of classes with him and the topics are always interesting. He's a very nice guy. But I think he's a terrible teacher. His "lectures" tend to be a string of irrelevant information and then some brief regurgitation from the book. So unbearable I've withdrawn from some of his classes. His 1 credit classes easy and a gpa boost.

I've taken two classes with Professor Warner and I absolutely love his teaching style. They are GNST so they're not designed to be degree requirements but mostly electives. Really interesting information and uses a great mix of various media examples.

I hated his class. Luckily, there were only 3 classes because it was a one credit class. Even so, though, he uses a more difficult grading scale and was very harsh on the two tests we had to take. Lectures were 3-4 hours long and quite often were so disjointed it was hard to take notes. I didn't even know what to study for the tests.

I have taken all but one of Werner's available Gen Studies classes, and while his classes might not always be a cinch for a GPA boost, they are almost ALWAYS interesting. My favorite classes with him are the Rat Pack, and the New York culture class.

I took Werner's Tombstone class. He was pretty intersting, but he seemed a little unprepared for his lectures (alot of delayed "Ummmmmms"). But he displayed a genuine interest in the subject and knew what he was talking about, which I appreciated and which made the class worth it.
