Dr. Scarpaci is one of the best and one of my personal favorites at RVC. He comes off as strict and stern at first but as the semester progresses you will see his random, sometimes dry sense of humor. It is hard to get an A in his class but if you do exactly as his instructions for his papers insists, you will do fine. Hope he doesn't retire yet.

Dr. Scarpaci tries to make everyone think he is very strict man. But he is just a lovable old Italian man that is very passionate about Humanities and teaching it to others. He comes across as a mean old man, but after about the 2nd week of class you will find out that he doesn't have a mean bone in his body. AWESOME professor!!!

Dr. Scarpaci comes across as a very stern and strict professor the first few days of class, but he warms up and it's hard to not like him. He loves what he teaches and he tries to encourage everyone to get involved with discussion. His tests are based on exactly what he give us in the notes. I would definitely take him again.

Scarpaci's tests are word for word of what he says they will be. A question is the same from the notes to the review sheet to the test. The papers are fun to write because he teaches you how to dig deep and really write clearly and to the point. The first day he seemed strict, but now he's calmed down and he's pretty funny.

A short Italian guy passionate about what he's teaching. Not the easiest to approach with questions. Attendance is mandatory first 3/4 of semester. Would definitely take another class with him.

Scarpaci is an awesome teacher! He truly teaches you how to write papers, think critically, and relate the topic to your own life- which makes every day very interesting. He is very enthusiastic, and is willing to help at any time. Just participate in class- and follow his instructions for his papers! my 1st term wouldnt have been the same w/o him!

Good teacher. Insightful and is very interested in the subjects he speaks about. When it comes to writing essays, follow his guidelines exactly, and you should get an A. Only problems is that he tends to go off on tangents. Otherwise he is funny and cares about his students.

Scarpaci is EXTREMELY brilliant, and expects brilliance from his students. He is TOTALLY open to help, and even wrote me a letter of recomendation for an internship (which I got). Passed his class with an A+ and an A+ on every paper. EXTREMELY compassionate, unlike other people are saying, and I will be taking him for the 3rd time next semester!

Overall, a very good teacher. he is a very open-minded person, and makes class an interesting time. i dont enjoy writing papers, but these arent too difficult to write, considering many of them are of your own opinion.

Very smart prof! He gets right down to business in class and his lectures are interesting but he can get boring at times. If you are good at writing papers you will do fine. There are no tests in this class just papers (4 or 5 total). I've taken him twice and both times got A's. Seems tough but very understanding!

Can't really depend on the notes in class, but you have to be there if you want participation grades. Do you best and read the chapters and you'll be smooth sailing. He hands out study guides for the exams/quizzes that have exactly what you need to know/study on them. He saw that I was sick as a dog and he extended my assignment due date-Great Guy!

he is very old and has no compassion for his students. He cares too much about what he does and does not tolerate excuses. definitely not a bird course. must be prepared for every class.
