I find him to be a very tough grader. He has a specific way that he likes essays written and if you don't match his writing style, you will not do well. In class, there is not much "composition" going on. It is seemingly discussions on things that have nothing to do with writing. Assignments are all 600 words or less and handed out in class

The class is very boring! The professor do not give accurate grades! A-/B+ is not an accurate grade! Either an A or a B on a paper! No mid-term grade to see where you are at in the class. The final grade is a surprise.

Wonderful teacher, I was absolutely dreading taking English, but he makes the class fun and there were many interesting discussions & he's funny! As you long you attend class, participate and actually try, you'll be fine. Very easy to communicate to & is more than flexible around any potential issues. Highly recommend!

Mr. McKinstry has a wonderful personality. He is very genial and there were many interesting class discussions to partake in. The class was never boring, even though I took a 3 hour night class after working full time and being a mom.
