Comment:
There is a disconnect between the material he teaches in class and the material he tests you on which is a huge problem for students. Most MPPA student's don't have an econ background but Calum assumes you know how to do the math. He breaks down the concepts beautifully in class, but if you don't go to the tutorials you won't do well in the class.

I love him! Anyone that gives the class cookies on Monday morning is okay by me. He's a great lecturer, makes good use of the board. And I just have to say, he is the scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz after he has gained his brains.

The best prof I've had so far. Takes the time to make the material make sense without too much work required on our part. Really good intro to a really dry topic. Very approachable and kind. Really cares about his students. Actually @ CU to teach... and that he does well. Awesome class... PBABM wouldnt be the same without him.:)

Really cares about his students (he conducts a student survey regarding the clarity, etc, of his class), is a very hard marker. Material was very dry, with a lot of reading. I usually just read the 2 articles required for the tutorials and ending up not even opening the textbook. (Left course with an A, so I recommend skipping the text.)

Ditto on most of the positive comments here. Calum takes the (ostensibly) least exciting subjects and manages to make them really interesting. I THOROUGHLY enjoyed his class.

For those who are still suffering from post-Darby depression and anxiety, Calum comes as the Arthur Kroger College version of Zoloft or Prozac. In one lecture, I learnt all about classic Greece that the dreaded Darby took weeks to cover, unsuccessfully i might add. Also for TAs, Cody is the man!

What an amazing professor, he could make a 2 year old learn Marxist thought. Looks can be deceiving though, he's an unexpectedly tough marker, but he's very fair and giving.

Great Prof! Accessible, clear, fair, engaging and fun. Couldn't ask for a better introduction to economics. If you get the chance to take a course with him, I highly recommend it.
