I first thought he was kind of a prick, but I tried taking a second class with him when I got a little older and I now see him for the genius he is. Our department was lucky to have him and it is a shame he is retiring. Gave me an interest in neuroscience. DO NOT FREAK OUT if your grade seems unusually low -- he has a weird system.

Dr. Smith is an awesome teacher if you know what to expect. He is very science based and if you are into social psy, etc. you will be miserable..but if you are a science major or enjoy biopsy and things like that he is your man. He is a genius and very willing to help outside of class if you go to him. Grading is tough but fair.

Only credit to his teaching: he's funny. He's also an impossible grader, and it's hard to even know what he's going to test you on. I get the impression teaching is his way of throwing his intellectual ability around. He's a WWE bully in the ring of academia. Personally, I hate him.

Taught this class as a filter class even though it fulfills gen eds, which I found unfair. The class average was in the low 60s (probably a result of the filtering). Aside from that he was v. well versed in his subject and seemed to enjoy teaching. Probably a great prof. for a psych major, but not so great for everyone else.

An amazing man. Extremely intelligent. Entertaining lectures. A lot of people say this guy is "REALLY HARD". I didn't think that was true. He just expects you to think about what you say. He can say a lot in one class. Some of it might not make sense at first, but if you trust his intellect, you'll understand in the end. Also, he's hilariou

Amazing professor and a great guy. He wrote the text book, so no BSing allowed, but you don't even need to. He makes the class even more interesting with comical comments during discussions and makes some very thought-provoking points. I love the class and would take smith for psych of dirt if he taught it. Highly recommended course.

Class very difficult and tends to take over your life, but worth it, because you can actually get a lot out of his classes. You work tons, but you also learn tons. Wouldn't suggest him for every semester (you'll go nuts!) but for one or two, yes.

He has a certain mousey cuteness to him.He is oddly funny, and if his lectures start to lose you he keeps you entertained w/his cute little jigs and voice changes. His tests and quizes are killer, but he is very receptive in offering help if you ask.

He's a strange keebler of a man who regularly attacks the light switch and randomly discusses peanut butter and its use as a lubrication. Hard tests, lots of work and debates, great class though!

Pop quizes, essay exams. Never figured out what he wanted, but I guess I figured out more than others: the class average was in the 60's (though rumor has it that he might curve). His lectures are engaging, and his anecdotes are interesting.

Dr. Smith's incredibly intellegent. Although one of the toughest professors at MWC, he is also the most informative I've had. He has a real passion for teaching and learning. Great, dorky sense of humor.
