I loved professor Saccocia. He was a really down-to-earth guy and his guidelines were very clear. Its unfortunate that I never got to take his class in person, but he has been one of my favorite professors by far no doubt. The class I took was very even, it was never too hard nor was it too easy. I would highly recommend you take his class.

Dr. Saccocia is a great professor for the beginning Geology courses and tries really hard to make the courses interesting and challenging at the same time. He is always willing to help as long as you put effort in on your end. Try hard and you wont fail.

Dr. Saccocia does well to teach you. Sometimes its hard to keep focus, but hes very interested in your success. If you have questions, he will gladly answer. The topics are tough, however, he makes a lot of wiggle room for you to mess up and do better. Some extra credit offered. Just take your notes and study them!

Dr Saccocia is very well organized and holds interesting lectures that wont bore you. The textbook is written by him (for Geodynamics) so you dont have to buy one, the labs are stress free but he is very specific about what he wants on the lab reports. Very good professor for any geology major.

Restating what most people have said here. He's a good professor, very helpful, would take again. Tests can be tricky, you definitely have to pay attention during lecture and make sure you understand the material. Some people in my class thought this class would be an easy A, it wasn't, but overall not too tough and the labs are stress free.

He is a really good professor. Exams are easy as long as you pay attention to lectures and he lets you know what the essay question will be. Labs are easy A's and he's very good about answering any questions. Quizzes are based off of the (not graded) pre-labs and only 1 essay throughout the semester which he gives you feedback on each step.

Loves his rocks and really knows what he's talking about. Very interesting especially when he shares his traveling experiences. There's only 3 tests in lecture but a SMALL quiz every week in lab that comes right out of the pre-labs he gives so be sure to do them. The labs are super easy and he'll check it over before you hand it. He's awesome!

Dr. Saccocia is one of the best teachers I have ever had. I am coming back to school after many, many years away and I am really enjoying his class. Definitely not for the students who want to coast but this guy can teach. he is making the rocks come alive!

Don't take his night classes that are only once a week with a lab.. Unless you REALLY enjoy talking about rocks for 5 and a half hours. This dooder makes you hold hands with your fellow colleagues. It's mildly concerning at times.. Yeah.

really hard class. prof is nice and knows his stuff, but he is extrememly hard on his students and expects you to memorize EVERYTHING. Harder than most of my 400 level classes. i feel bad, he is a nice guy, but would NOT recommend him, try and avoid this class if you are not a science major, you will struggle.

Very unrealistic expectations for students. He does not realize that this is a 100 level class and not our passion like it is his. Very difficult professor. Expects to much for a 100 level.

Very knowledgable and passionate about material. However, tends to split hairs on expectations of students and their understanding of information. Irrational when it comes to tests and students ability to prove what they know and how well they know it. Decent professor though.
