He's such a great lecturer but oh god the exam questions were super tricky and hard. Why can't BIOL200 profs make exam easy? it's just for U1 students, profs dont need to go too hard on them...

He explains the material really well!! His exam questions on the other hand can be very tricky (his quizzes showed his exam writing style somewhat, for my year at least) You'll definitely learn with him, but I believe it's important to go over the material carefully multiple times to make sure it's like second nature.

I thought he taught the material well and concisely. Got an A in the course WITHOUT using the textbook. I do recommend using NTCs though.

Prof Lasko is a great lecturer! At the beginning of each class, he gave a really helpful refresher of the last's lectures material, summarized very nicely on a couple of slides. He highlights all the key points to focus on. That being said, his exam questions can be quite tricky, so make sure you are very well prepared for the final!

He makes an effort to make the class interesting through puns and science jokes. Lecture slides were good and made an effort to go through difficult steps more than one. He included summaries of previous lectures which I found helpful. Also, if you check out his lab website, you'll see he's actually very accomplished!! Harvard+MIT+Cambridge?!

He is a very good lecturer. Was clear and emphasized topics he tested on. That being said, his section wasn't easy, but was made easier by his thoroughness during the lectures.

A solid prof, was clear and followed the assigned textbook readings perfectly (but reading them was not necessary. The book is however useful for the biweekly quizzes). Would take again.

Amazing biology prof! Lectures were super enjoyable, complemented the textbook well (although the textbook isnt necessary), and he went at a great pace. Hes super knowledgeable, makes the concepts easy to understand and is really funny. If you can take 200 with him I would highly recommend it!

He was sure interested in what he taught. And most of his exam question were really easy and straightforward if you understood his lectures and the book. However, he did manage to ask some questions about stuff covered neither in the class nor in the textbook...and in a class like genetics, you can't afford to lose marks on his questions.

A good Prof. Really smart guy. He will often introduce a topic and assume you understand it and move on very quickly, so following along in the textbook is very helpful. If you don't understand, ask him a question or to repeat something, he'll be very accomidating.

I don't think he goes too fast, nor does he seem disinterested. Lecture slides are very clear, and if you follow along in the textbook when you don't quite understand something you'll do fine. Tries to lighten the mood with jokes, he's a good prof.

I think that Dr.Lasko is an amazing lecturer..the topics are sometimes abstract and hard to visualize, but he explains them as best as anyone else could. If you re-listen to the lectures, it makes a lot of sense..and he follows the textbook pretty closely, so it's not that much of a problem for you.

Dr. Lasko isn't too difficult if you listen to the lectures again and take good notes. He doesn't test you on the excrutiating detail (ex. exact protein names in a cascade) but you should be able to put a couple of concepts together if you truely understand them. Got an A - and I went to bars! It's possible to do well, just do the work you need to!

This class is stupid. And the profs teaching it need to find a way to cut the information down. If anyone can put that much info in their head they are the next Albert Einstein or they've never been to a bar. Keeps talking and adding information and you just give up caring because of how useless this course is.

He's hard to follow in his lectures, and the book just complicates everything! But once you listen to his recording afterwards with a clear head and a bit sleep behind you, you realise he was very consistent in his lecture and very very thorough...though a bit too fast, but the work is tedious so it's not entirely his fault.

Comment:
good lecturer, clear. nothing you can't learn from the textbook. AWFUL exams. they're not hard per se, but he'll ask very specific, unexpected, irrelevant questions that don't stress understanding of the concepts, just memorization of random facts. 1 word answers are worth 5% each on exams. brutal.
