Comment:
Did not find this course to be particularly interesting. The professor is obviously knowledgeable in the topic but has a habit of assuming students are as intrigued by it as she is. Lecture heavy and does not make pwpts. available to students. Long and slightly boring outdated films almost every week. Requires cam on and will call you out on zoom.

When I took this course in my undergraduate years I really liked it. The subject of western history was something I rarely come across and I really learned a lot. The professor was very nice, and wanted her students to put in the effort to learn. Exams can be scary as all prompts were in-class without and prior knowledge, so know your stuff.

Needed to fulfill a GE. Cheapest text is the eBook on Amazon's Kindle for $40. A lot of reading but you can be smart and efficiently read certain areas of the text. Reading assignments due weekly. 3 essay exams with 2 questions each that are similar to the assignments. Does not provide question ahead of time. No cumulative final. Tough for a GE.

What a great class. She is a good lecturer, but if she has a grad student she will talk with her/him while you are taking your exams. THe reading was very heavy, but I learned a lot, and we saw some great films. The weekly discussion questions were harder than the exams.

I really liked Dr. Ferraro for this class. Although Venetian history isn't really my thing, I learned a lot from this class. Reading was kind of heavy at times, but since the essay exams were not difficult (open book and note, just think for yourself) it balanced out. I would take her again in a heartbeat!

Pretty hard, class is very unorganized and lectures tend to be all over the place. But she is very smart and knows a lot so if you're willing to work, she's a good professor

She may be difficult and sometimes intimidating, but if you work with her, she will work with you. Has a wealth of knowledge to impart to her students if they will just truly listen to her. I enjoyed working with her on a graduate level.

Has extensive knowledge in her field. Very clear lectures..although lots of notes. Only essay tests, but gives you the questions pretty much before hand.

Exceedingly unpleasant and difficult to deal with. Radiates bitterness and hostility, especially towards men and the more attractive women. Antagonistic and defensive, insists upon complete agreement with her politics and viewpoints. Perfunctory grader.
