Self-professed random thinker which is part of what makes his teaching style so interesting. While we covered the material in the text, we also learned so much more seemingly unrelated material. Inspired me to read more of the material touched on in class. I look forward to taking other classes with him.

He really cares about students and wants you to apply critical thinking and learn. It's the process of learning that is important, there is no memorization and regurgitation without understanding in his class. Nice that he doesn't use expensive textbooks either.

This professor knows how to engage students with the material and connect it to our everyday lives. He is clear, dry-witted and truly enjoys the material he teaches. Take any class you can with him, you will enjoy the refreshing change from the slog of other classes.

Fantastic prof. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about what he teaches. His classes tend to be very interactive and values students' insights. He jokes a lot and the jokes can sometimes come off as offensive, but they're funny for the most part.

Liked his teaching style. Encourages critical thinking and originality, encourages students to have their own opinions. Did not have e-mail!! Did not allow students to hand in assignments early for feedback before deadlines. A little full of himself.

Amazingly knowledgeable about the course material. Challenges you to think, but that means you retain the material better than just memorization.

At first I was a bit offended by some of the things he said, but once I got used to his teaching style I really enjoyed his class. I like that he doesn't give exams and his assignments are pretty straightforward.

Best prof I have ever had. He seems stern but once you get to know him things smooth out. What he knows is amazing. Funny, doesn't take himself seriously, but he takes his teaching very seriously. Just don't try to fslack off. Hard but fair marker.

One of the best! He has an amazing amount of knowledge. Not so concerned with teaching facts; more interested in making students THINK, and that is what it is all about, right? Very enthusiastic about his subject, and a fair and fast marker.

Pompous, self-centred demeanor--a throwback to another era--completely turned me off Spanish literature, a subject I used to enjoy. Distracted and distracting teaching style. Focuses on the minutiae of the literature to an extent that obliterates extraction of meaning. I wish I had paid more attention to prior comments here.

Great Prof. Makes subjects very interesting, even poetry! He has tenure so he can do whatever he likes, not having tests or giving everyone A's if thats what he wants. He appreciates different approaches and seems to be very open minded. I can't recommend him enough.

A very knowledgeable and interesting professor. He's not the easiest marker but is definitely fair and will help you if you have any concerns. He's only intimidating if you let him be - he'll put you on the spot to participate, but it will only help your grade anyway. You'll definitely learn from him!

Horrible teacher. He's rude and does not make students feel comfortable. There was a rumour that he was an easy marker, this is not true!! My worst experience with a spanish professor in the entire university. He picks favourites and is like an old dog that doesn't learn new tricks.
