This class was one of my favorite classes, but also one of the most difficult classes I have taken here at CMU. She truly cares about her students and is very willing to help you achieve the best grade possible but you have to make the effort if you want to do well. She is a pretty tough grader but she prepares you a lot for essays and quizzes.

This class is designed to be challenging in order to get the competency credit for it. To start, it may seem difficult but once you gauge what Freling is looking for you will gradually improve. She definitely cares about seeing students do well. Be very careful with grammar, because she grades on every aspect.

Professor Freling is a very funny prof. I like her as a person but I don't like her class. There are many pop quizzes over grammar you learn throughout the course. The papers you write in the class are never good enough for her so it is almost certain you'll get a bad grade on them.

She is a nice woman but as a professor, she is not the best. She says she is trying to make you a better writer, but she doesn't explain herself very well. She considers writing to be easy and you should just know how to write perfect papers. Very grammar heavy, be ready to work your butt off on papers and get terrible grades on them.

If you take this class, you need to go. You won't pass if you don't. She does bring up quizzes out of nowhere and won't tell you. I don't recommend.

She is a good teacher but the class is a lot of work. Long essays are required with tons of 2 page journals. Also, her class in very grammar based with many quizzes that are easy! They will save your grade so do not skip class because you cannot make them up

She is a pretty cool lady. She is understanding and will help you as needed. She does grade pretty hard. Be sure to go into detail about every thing in your paper. The class is pretty easy going. Make sure you show you may miss a quiz. They are pretty easy.

She is an easy professor if you are good at memorizing grammar rules and enjoy writing 6 page papers. Most people don't like her because they are lazy. She will help you if you ask. Just be prepared for reading a grammar rule books and about 15 short stories with writing assignments for all of them. Not as hard as others make it out to be.

Tough grade, I did not get much help or encouragement from this professor! I almost failed the class and lost my scholarship, but I got that bump up in my grade from the journal entries that were given! Take the quizzes and journal entries serious they will save your grade if your paper is not earning high scores!

Tough grader, but it is worth it. Does not do the same class materials as the other ENG 101 proffs. She focuses more on grammar and papers.

Professor Freling is kind of a tough grader when it comes to the essays you have to write. I wrote some of my best papers in her class and the highest grade I earned on them was a B. She won't just give you a passing grade you actually have to work for it if you want to do good in her class.

She is a really nice and funny teacher. She was also very helpful, I learned alot in her class. She is a but of a hard grader but not ridiculously hard. People who say she is really difficult obviously didn't want to do the work. I really enjoyed her class.

The class is extremely boring. If you send her an email, be prepared to get a rude response. If you have to take it I wouldn't recommend taking it with her. All you do is discuss stories. If you have to have her, don't take the little 5pt quizzes lightly, they really add up and ended up hurting my grade at the end. Sparknotes saved my grade!

She is a crazy hard grader. Homework for every class, have to read a story out of textbook then respond to questions given in class. Attendance isn't mandatory but you will fail if you dont show. She has quizes everyday and only she understands the meaning of questions. This should be an easy class but she makes it hard. Her exams are impossible!!!

Not my favorite teacher. She grades hard. If your good at writing you should do well, but if your not she will give you poor grades and not feel bad. Dont argue with her; she wont listen. New Essays all the time. Just busy work. Im sure you can find better a prof.

Freling does not grade easy. She pushes her students to get better with every essay. By asking questions and going to her office hours you can get a lot of help on your essays. Be respectful to her and she will be nice back
