Brenner is an interesting woman to say the least. I took her first year sem, it was AWFUL. She is rude, inconsiderate, and demeaning. She makes you write so many papers about NONSENSE. How may papers can you write about tomatoes?? (apparently 10pgs wasn't good enough). You'll never live up to her 'standards'.

Comment:
Brenner is amazing. She is so compassionate and understanding and offers many attempts on papers and quizzes. If you aren't doing well in the class its likely because you don't make enough effort. If you meet with her she gives amazing feed back on essays and hand feeds you what to write and where to put it in the essay. She is the best!!

do not take any of her classes. her freshman sem is awful and she makes you write like 4 papers about tomatoes and no matter how hard you try it will never be good enough. the material is awful and she is super rude to all her students and will make you feel like an idiot and a fool in front of everyone. avoid her and her class.

Terrible teacher, awful at telling you what she wants out of any assignment. Expect to do most learning outside of class by yourself. If you can find a different class and avoid her.

Brenner is a nice woman outside of the classroom, but inside she is frustrating, especially if you're taking her writing intensive folklore class. When she returns your paper, don't be surprised if pen marks are all over it. However, she did allow revisions/rewrites due the class after receiving it back, which will save you.

I just transferred to BSU and this class proved to me that this was the right choice. It opened my eyes to Anthropology and now I'm majoring in it! Do your work and go to class and Brenner will love you. She answers any question but challenges you at the same. I definitely recommend taking Brenner and I would love to take her other courses!

I would rather take another year at BSU than one class with her. INSANELY hard papers that she gives rude and useless feedback in. Stupid tests, dumb sense of humor. But she does remind me a lot of Jane Fraser. But seriously, this class is a mistake.

Don't recommend taking this class unless you're really interested in this subject. This teacher is very critical when it comes to grading papers, and she assigns a good majority of them, plus her clarification for what she wants is poor. She is more than happy to help you, but this class isn't for you if youve had a bad experience from this before .

Honestly, this professor is one of the best i've had! I am a senior and have had a lot of professors but she really cares about making students learn-and helping them understand the material. She is strict when it comes to work because her profession requires it but she is funny and relates the information really well.

She's funny, I think. At the beginning I didn't think I'd like it because she shot me down when I asked a too specific question. But she's been VERY helpful when I asked her opinion on Grad schools. Also, yeah, she's really blunt. But let's put on our big boy pants here. Your in college.

I feel bad for those she didn't like because she makes it incredibly obvious! Choose your questions carefully or else she'll make u feel very dumb. She isn't clear on her expectations and then makes you feel like crap when you don't get it. I personally didn't mind her, but she really is rude to the students, like very rude-no respect!

This woman is completely unprofessional, condescending, and entirely unfit to teach. She singles students out, and maintains very little respect. I tried speaking to her and she walked away from me - she is not understanding and thinks she is holier than thou.

She is definitely the worst teacher I have ever had. Not only does she choose favorites, but she chooses least favorites. I was an unfortunate least favorite in her Food, Feast and Folly course. She called me stupid in front of the entire class. She is not clear about her expectations, is extremely picky, and is a generally unpleasant person. AVOID
