Professor Ayalamacedo is great, with one caveat: his courses are evidently much harder for those who don't have so much experience with Spanish, i.e. STARTED in college. He provides study guides for his exams, which are VERY handy. Participate in class and do the readings, which aren't too long. Latin American scholars, his courses are must-take.

Dr. Ayalamacedo is definitely tough. It takes a few classes to understand how his class is run. He doesn't give much feedback but once you understand, class becomes much easier. Even though he's difficult, I came out understanding and speaking much better Spanish.

DROP THIS CLASS OR FIND ANOTHER TEACHER!!!! AWFUL!!! Everything is taught verbally, calls on everyone and if you do not get the exact answer correct he moves on in 2 seconds and you lose the opportunity to get a participation point. Participation is given to those who do well and is a bias way of keeping students who are struggling from doing well.

Dr. Ayalamacedo is amazing. It takes a while to get used to his teaching style, but he will teach you a lot. You must be willing to correct your mistakes and not get frustrated; he specifically looks for that in students. He is my advisor, and a great one. He is very resourceful. Strongly recommend, but be prepared.

Many students do not like Dr. Ayalamacedo. These are students who don't have a solid foundation in Spanish. In class, he calls on students in the order in which they wrote their name on his attendance sheet. If you pause, take too long, or say a sentence in class the wrong way, he skips you. Trust me when I say you WILL speak so much better w/ him.

You need to study and know things by heart in order to answer his questions correctly on the spot and for him to acknowledge the work you're putting in. Almost everyone changed their major after this class with him. All compositions can be re-written and they're very helpful on exams so get the most out of it. Don't let him intimidate you to drop.

He tries to be helpful but doesn't really care about what effort you're putting into his class, if you're not passing he simply doesn't care until you are. Hard work isn't a problem but hard work without any credit is. He tends to be incredibly rude to students who don't know what they're doing/are lost in class.

UGH! I like and dislike this man! He makes to WORK HARD for your grade, but you do end up learning a lot because of it. DONT TAKE IF WANT EASY A! I guess in the end I liked his class, but my biggest problem was that he made up saying to tell you when something was wrong with your sentence instead of just telling you what it was (i.e. eating words).

If your name tag is not out he will ignore you. If you don't know the answer he will just call on someone else. NEVER explains anything. Tests are challenging and require a significant amount memorization. Tests are typically on multiple chapters (a lot to memorize)

Decently nice, can be funny. Has a very thick accent and it's not always clear what he's asking. He goes around the room and asks you questions, if you answer wrong he won't tell you what's wrong about it, he'll just move on to the next person. All in all, I like him and his teaching style, I learned a lot in his class.

Ayalamacedo is a good guy but his classes are tough ! Suggest going to class unless you're sick because his lectures are his tests. He gives opportunities to submit things early for feedback, absolutely take advantage of this if you want a good grade. He is a funny guy and has a lot of cool stories.

He's a nice guy and he can get funny. I've taken 2 of his classes. He is really strict when it comes to grading. He makes his students speak Spanish A LOT. Even though I did not feel comfortable with speaking, it's what makes you learn. Hard class but definitely take him if you're a spanish major.

Ayalamacedo is really a nice guy deep down but he expects you to try in his class. Let me say that again, you have to TRY in his class. If he sees you are putting an effort forward to pass his class you will end up with a good grade. Study guides are EXACTLY like the tests. 2 points added to your final grade for perfect attendance.

WORST TEACHER EVER ! I was confident knowing enough spanish to pass but when you answer a question wrong all he does is call on someone else. He can never tell you what you did wrong making me learn NOTHING! No name tag? He ignored me all class and I didn't notice until the end. I dropped the class because I was going to fail. SAVE YOURSELF!!!!!!!!

Most helpful Spanish class I've ever taken. He has his own way of teaching but it's very helpful. He often has students explain concepts to other students but only to ensure that other students understand the material. Study guides pretty much ARE the tests. Doesn't give much homework & if you do it, you'll do well.

Professor Ayalamacedo is the worst professor ever. I took him my freshman year of college and his class is beyond stressful. He doesnt know how to teach and if you get answers wrong you dont get credit for doing your homework. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS YOU WILL REGRET IT

Dr. Ayalamacedo is a great professor! He likes to make the class fun, but does it in a stressful way sometimes. His study guides and the exams are pretty much the same. He covers A LOT of material, and if you fall behind, you're pretty much screwed. Just ask for help when you need it and you'll do fine!
