Comment:
His course, despite being focused on a particular religion, did not actually require students to read said religious texts in full, just quotes that give questionable accuracy about said religion. If you do not care and just want to take an elective then this is fine. However, if you want to read religious texts then find a another instructor.

He is an awesome guy who really cares about his students. He has a lot of background and knows what he's talking about. He made waking up for an 8:30 am class worth it.

Dr. Lee is a real quirky dude. He definitely cares a lot about his students. He has high expectations, but he will work with you to be sure that you succeed. His class is all lecture, and there are a 4-5 papers you'll need to write based off of books you read. It's a lot of work, but it's almost worth it. Lowest paper grade gets dropped!

I was happy with my decision to take Chris Lee for religion 101. He taught it quite different from all of the other professors. He didn't assign traditional religious texts to read and he did not give tests upon each religion. However, the class did require a lot of reading and writing (6 full length texts with an assigned essay to go with each).

Chris is quite simply one of the best professors I've had. He's entertaining, super helpful, and really knows his stuff. There often is a lot of reading and he can be a tough grader, but as long as you do your work, you'll be fine.

For HON 247 he is a fantastic professor. Lots of reading to be had, but he is not a terribly hard grader on the reflection papers that comprise 1/2 of the final grade. Do go to class, it is actually ENTERTAINING!! Oh and be prepared to speak.

Readings are absolutely AWFUL, and there are too many of them. Chris is a very nice man though. Not toooo bad of a grader either. Nice thing is that there are no tests except the final, just a bunch of papers. If you like to read and write, take this class.

He's a good professor. Class is interesting, even if he does "overshare". Not too hard a grader and only a few papers and some reading. Not too bad at all.

Chris Lee is AMAZING and I would take every class he ever taught if I could. I took him for Eastern Religions and he made us chai and let us play with henna in class. We read primary texts and analyzed them ourselves in reflection papers: much better than textbook learning. He rocks my friggin stockings ^_¬
