Keys to do well with Godfrey: memorize his in-class handouts, do the extra practice problems, and read the textbook. His exams are based on the extra practice problems. If you do these things you will do well. Yes, this is a hard class but it's upper-level accounting. What do you expect? Can't cram for exams, must actively study during the year.

Comment:
Dr.Godfrey is extremely intelligent, and knows exactly what he is talking about. It would be impossible for him to cover everything in lecture, so you have to read the textbook. His study guides are extremely useful, and he is very willing to help if there is confusion. Go to class, read the book, and do the homework, and there should be no probs.

Comment:
He is a horrible professor. He may/may not be great else where, but he isn't very good at teaching. He knows what he is talking about, but he is not thorough! When you ask for explanations, he will answer you, but you still don't know what he is talking about. He throws curve balls on the test even though questions are same as sample exams.

Godfrey doesn't teach and he's not very helpful. Expect to teach yourself. 4 exams, 25 questions per exam.Study guides provided for each exam. Study guide questions almost exactly like on the exam. Study the study guides plus all problems on handouts worked in class and you should get at least a B. Be careful exams are only 25 questions.

Dr. Godfrey is one of the worst professors I've ever had at the University. He rambles about politics and doesn't teach at all. Be prepared to teach yourself all of the material. Godfrey didn't teach one thing the entire semester. The University should fire him.

I took the corporate tax class with Godfrey. not sure about section number??? godfrey knows his stuff and is fun to listen to. Tough to follow most of the time, but still interesting. His exams are easy because they are open notes. don't be afraid to ask questions in class. he's not as mean as people are writing. don't take life so seriously.

The class is easy, but expect to teach yourself. Doctor Godfrey is useless. His worksheets have typos, he leaves class all the time, and is not helpful at all. If you are even semi-intelligent, you should get at least a "B" if you teach yourself. I got an "A".

Avoid him if at all possible! The material is not difficult, but plan to base all of your learning from the book and not from class. Dr. Godfrey was unprepared for class almost every day, and would frequently leave the room during class time to go to his office. Materials he created were riddled with errors/typos, including tests.

Dr. Godfrey is a great teacher, it is not easy, and you will have to put time in outside of class, but with how many additional resources he gives you it is your own fault if you don't do well, not his. The only complaint I have is the 8 point grading scale, because I would have had an A.

I enjoy the tax class with Dr. Godfrey. Very interesting class. I learned a lot from this class. His material ( on his website) is more helpful than the book. I would highly recomend Dr. Godfrey for any accounting classes, particulary for Tax.

Not a very difficult class. True, he doesn't teach a whole lot... But the textook is very good and 4 chapters per test is not that bad. Plus, the tests are very similar to the homework. So, if you read the book carefully and do all the hw, you can do great in his class! (tests are open book + notes)

He doesn't teach you anything. Don't ask questions. Even if he ask if their are questions. He will make an example of you. Read the text book and know all the limits. DO THE PRACTICE TEST.

I agree with the previous statements. He asks you to ask him questions and then mistreats you for asking. His practice tests are great, unfortunately he seems to make the test questions purposefully confusing. I decided to drop and take it from another prof. in the the following semester. If you take his class plan on teaching yourself.

His tests would be easy if he would teach the material, what I didn't find from this class. What he did, just nervously skipping power point slides by emphasizing his PHD on each slide. I didn't learn anything from this class. This professor doesn't care about his students.

Horrible teaching! You better be prepared to teach yourself the material and rules. Don't ask questions bc he don't have time for them. He doesn't want to really help you. Plain RUDE! His acct2122 was easy but his tax is a little different.

I read the comments here and one thing is true, if you are a determined student, you will receive an A in this course. This prof. knows his material, but is a little disorganized and and sometimes can be a little confusing. Otherwise, I'm glad I took him
