Class was extremely long, night class of course. Book was rarely used, never really tested out of the book. Only 3 exams, if missed one, make up will be cumulative. Exams are based on lecture. Lecture can be irrelevant to what will be on exam, but most information are on there. Listen and pay attention, will need MUCH EFFORT to pass.

Cool teacher. Note taking can be repetitive but everything that is in exam, is in the notes. Some day movies are shown so make sure to somewhat attempt to attend class. Just study!!

I would NEVER take Soto for any class ever again. I would avoid him at all costs. I took this class with my husband and he screwed up his grade. He said he was a Withdrawl! Even though he had an A. He finally fixed it months later and we had to track him down at his class! Not only that his class was boring and hard to understand.

He is such a sweet guy...his Spanish class is so easy I suggest taking on the TV course if you can bc I took the 8am class and it was so easy I never wanted to go...he has a lot of patience. Especially for those extremely stupid old people that were in my class that never understood anything and would ask the most ignorant questions

Mr. Soto is a good teacher. Yes, he is hard to understand at times, but he'll always repeat what he said or spell out a Spanish word you may not understand. Take good notes a read and his tests are fine.

You cannot understand him at all. His lectures have no apparent order nor do his books that he uses. Apt to change the syllabus without notice. Loses your tests, forgets to put extra credit tests in the media center, etc. He needs to retire.

Nice guy, lousy instructor. No focus to his class or lecture. Cirriculum obviosly not planned or even thought about. I passed the class with other self teaching tools. I would never consider taking another class with him. Easy A is you do the extra credit volunteering to hispanic events, worthy causes, but no time in already busy schedule.

I didn't have any problems with Mr. Soto. He was always very friendly and the accent wasn't a problem at all. He made references to being Mexican but so what? He always tried to relate them to the subject. I really enjoyed his classes.

Worst professor I ever had at Yuba. He is confusing, hard to understand, rude, and obsessed with being Mexican. I got a little sick of hearing how great Mexicans were every day of class. He is also very unclear about homework, tests, and due dates.

Did not like him at all. He was hard to understand. He did not use his "big boy" voice and had an accent. He seemed very preoccupied with the fact that he was Mexican, and felt the need to use that aspect of his life to teach.

Can be a bit hard to follow at times, but if you put in the effort, he appreciates it, not extremely demanding but not easy, about average, don't know what other reviews meant by radicalism. I didn't notice any, nor any problem with his Spanish teaching.
