One of the best, if not the best professor, on campus. Not in the sense of a warm personality, but in terms of student growth, no one does better.

Theory was my favorite class this semester. The readings are difficult, but Dr. Alexnader goes out of her way to make sure you understand the material. She gives students the opportunity to express themselves. If you don't like to read or put time into your classes, I would take a different class. It was interesting and I got a lot out of it.

She knows her information, however the students are assigned chapters from the book and are made to teach the other students via power point. She does little teaching and prefers "discussions" this can come to bit you later on if you are not reading as many students do poor jobs presenting.

I knew the class would be a lot of work. The tests are fair, but you have to study. It was great to be in a class where everyone's views are valued. I can honestly say I learned a lot and I am a better student.

Tends to ridicule people who do not agree with her views....I felt as if i was singled out a lot because I was one of the few liberal students in her class. Her grading procedures are sort of sketchy and vague. She also uses her class as a political platform for her beliefs.

Make sure you read the book for theory. Without it you will most likely be lost. She is very good at getting off topic as well, making you responsible for work she does not go over.

I really enjoyed the class discussions. Dr. Alexander taught at my comprehension level where it was enjoyable. She gave me a greater interest in sociology. She started at the beginning which is good, because I knew nothing about sociology.

The worse class I had so far in college! She is an awful teacher and does not teach what is on the exams! My suggestion avoid this teacher.

Read the book and notes, and still did horrible on the 50 questions, 50 minute tests. Discussions are fair, but the test are terrible. She often asks questions that seem unimportant. Like "the distance higher class stand apart from one another during a discussion".. how is that sociology?

Takes her intro class way too seriously. I put more work into this course than I have for 200 and 300 level classes. Couldn't answer the few questions I had, so I stopped bothering. Tests are rough, fairly harsh on grading discussions. Didn't find the class interesting and the textbook is horrendously boring.

By far one of the worst classes I've ever had to take in my life. Going to class is pointless. The exams cover material that you're expected to read outside of class, and have nothing to do with the lectures. She also hates men and is under the impression that the whole world is out to get women. Although intelligent, she's a horrible professor.

I took this class online and its not difficult if you read the book and study the slides. DO NOT try to take the tests without thoroughly reading the material. Not quite sure how she grades the discussions but they are quick, just have to make sure you reply to 2 others

Sociological Theory is a class that was fun and exciting. We had some good debates. This class is how I pictured college classes would be like. I really learned a lot in this course.

She honestly does care that you understand the material, and if confused, she has no problem explaining more to you.For an upper level class she does offer a study guide. Treat that thing like GOLD!!She is a little condescending at times (ageist) and she sometimes delivers her political views as academic material, which was annoying but not too bad
