Comment:
It was not a hard class. The lectures are clear and he follows the slides. He goes over concepts in detail to make it as clear as possible. Weekly homework. A lot of people don't seem to like him but if you are forced to take CIS2033, he is one of the better professors. We had quizzes every lecture but they were simple (for the most part).

In what world is a 94.7 an A-? In Pei Wang's world. I worked hard to teach myself throughout this course because time listening to him in class was essentially a waste. He was even audited by the department for how poorly he was doing. Avoid him if you don't want to waste your tuition.

This class was supposed to be easy, a lot easy but the professor Wang makes it very difficult. He doesn't give a lot of examples, he mostly read whatever is on the powerpoint. You will pass if you read, quizes are not that hard, homeworks are a little confusing, and exams are difficult. This class need more exercises than Theory.

So since this is a probability and stats course, I'm gonna say the lectures and quizzes empty set. He lectures fine but that's all, he doesn't give you enough examples and explaining the concepts. My least favorite class so yeah, this rating is biased.

Maybe other students are finding it easier to follow Pei Wang during class, but for me its basically a waste of time being there. I have to find time to teach myself all of it outside of class. His terminology is ambiguous and his notes on the board are insanely sloppy. I cant skip and only teach myself due to pop quizes at least once a week.

Pei Wang leaves a lot to be desired for 2033. This class is HARD. Very hard. The concepts are not easy to grasp and the class really bridges a gap between math and CS. Pop quizzes are given every week to ensure people come to class, Pei structures the class such that exams make up nearly all of your shot at passing, & labs are irrelevant to course.

I wouldn't recommend taking him, this subject is extremely difficult and he doesn't make it any easier. all he does is read off his slides, doesn't give any examples, and doesn't have any review for the quizzes or exams. the lab was useless and did not have anything to do with the class. Its all just slides being read at the class.

He's a nice guy but his teaching is questionable. He barely goes over concrete examples of the concepts he teaches so it's up to student to learn them and then apply it to the homework which can be very difficult. The quizzes are fairly easy and there were only 3 labs. All pretty easy. Only hard thing is actually learning the material yourself.

The professor is nice & is willing to help outside of class. But he basically reads off of powerpoints, rarely gives any examples. Expects students to understand the HARD concepts. Also, MATLAB is SO tedious with labs that don't relate to the class. 12 pop quizzes but only count 10. 1 midterm & a final (be prepare for the very long and hard final).

just reads from the Power Point. Have to do a lot of learning on your own to understand the material better. his exams and quizzes are filled with trick questions. the other Java teachers are apparently much, much better. Pei is nice and will answer your questions but his class is very difficult.

He is a nice guy and his lectures are easy to follow. The homework and the labs are very disparate from the lectures in class. None of the problems in the homework are close to those done in class. The quizzes are a fair representation of the material taught in lecture.

His class was very disorganized. In order to learn anything, you had to look things up on google. During lecture he would just read you the power point, and not do any examples. His exams are also full of trick questions. I expect an A, but that is because I knew most of the material before going into the class. Don't see how you can learn from him

To be honest, this professor wasn't that bad. He's hard to understand, but after the first few classes you get used to the accent. He knows his stuff. Pay attention, come to class and be interested in the material and you'll be well off.

Screw this guy. Seems like on okay dude but his teaching style is pitiful. Thick accent, for a class tailored towards beginners he worked way too fast and the work was way too hard. Do not recommend

He did not give any examples outside of the books. His teaching was making us confused. In brief, he is not an expert in this course 3033. The book we used is not a good one. To do well in this course, I have to learn from youtube, other books and sources on internet. I rate him 60/100

Took him for Math For a Digital World. Miserable lecturer, but a really nice guy and a fair enough grader. He offered a lot of extra credit when he realized the class was generally performing poorly on the tests/quizzes. Considers effort when calculating the final grade, which is really nice.

You could'nt really understand him much but as long as you go to class once a month you can get an A. Gave really easy homeworks and projects. He gives suprise quizzes but as long as you do well on the test you don't have to be there for them.

Having acknowledged that we basically have no clue what will ultimately result in AI, Dr. Wang still has many interesting ideas to share with us. The workload was a bit heavy, but lectures were enjoyable and the assignments had relevance. Grading was probably too lenient if anything, but certainly not unfair.
