Comment:
All business, no frills. Slightly intimidating, but approachable. Very opinionated. Grades based entirely on group projects, mostly papers. He expects them to be creative, but refuses to define expectations. Easier to know what he wants as semester progresses. Pray you get a good group. He picks them and you work together all semester.

Had him for ICU and advanced ICU. For advanced ICU (6th semester) don't bother getting the book! Seriously do not need it, he even said the book is too complicated. Tests are based off of powerpoints. Grades hard on the papers (2 papers). Takes roll. Regretted choosing ICU for 6th semester because of the amount of extra work compared to other class

Comment:
He's smart and he knows it. Lectures are boring and he does not allow you to use computers and he refuses to post his Powerpoints before class (he will at least post them after). He is rude and not the most approachable. Unlike some other nursing professors at least his tests are straightforward. Read the book but focus on what he covers in lecture

Yes, he's arrogant and sarcastic, but if you can play along he's a pretty cool guy. Very smart and answers any questions you have, but don't bug him about his ppts and don't ask him to speak louder- you'll get an ear-full. I also had him for 312- I felt he was way better in 331 (he's more interested in the subject and respects 3rd semester more) :/

Comment:
He is very knowledgeable, but feels that students ought to teach themselves and he should just have to answer questions. He zooms through the lecture (assuming that everyone had time to read everything) and acts as though his power points should be secret treasures. Not effective at imparting knowledge, but a great resource to answer questions.

Comes across at first as a hard and mean, but after the 2nd class with him he isn't that bad. Read the book! Class is challenging but do-able. Also had 312 with him over winter, which was pretty challenging. A little arrogant, but tolerable.

Tony is a great professor. If you took the initiative to ask for help, he always went above and beyond to help you understand the material. Classes are not easy, but if you are willing to put in some work you'll learn a lot of information useful in the hospital. I've had a few classes with him, and he has been the most supportive of my teachers.

Not personable and extremely stubborn. Talked down to students and he couldn't care less about us personally. Worst and most stressful semester. I am reconsidering not precepting ICU simply because Tony may be my instructor again, which is something I would NEVER go through again.

Tony is an average teacher. Lectures could not be more boring, but he gets the info out. He is very full of himself and makes fun of doctors. He does know a lot of material and his tests are not horrible IF YOU READ THE BOOK, just lectures will barely get you passing. He doesn't play favorites but absolutely hates people that skip class!

Comment:
Nice guy who works in a logical fashion and is clear in his expectations; however, is very judgemental and foists his worldveiw and morality upon unsuspecting students. Is known to knock students down a grade over alleged "threshold" incidents. Listen to his instructions and follow them to the letter.

Tony is a VERY smart critical care nurse, and a good teacher. Critical care in 3rd and Advanced Critical csre in 6th semester are tought subjects! Tony does a good job teaching them, and he writes fair exams. He's very personable and has a fun sense of humor. He's one of the good teachers in this disappointing nursing program.

Not a good teacher for critical care. He knows a lot, but is not good at conveying info or taking time for questions. He gets impatient and defensive with students, making us feel apprehensive to ask questions.

I had him for critical care clinical. He is very intelligent and knows what he is talking about. You will learn so much from him. Care plans are long and time consuming but that is what we as nursing students need to do to learn, he can't change that. Take him, you won't regret it!
