My English is not that good but I could understand all the classes. You should go to his office and have a better understanding of what he did. For the exams, you should solve all the Quizzes by your own or at least try to understand the solutions. Do some examples and/or exercises from the book. No tough grading. Go to classes and take notes.

This is a very hard class, but I believe it could have been a lot less confusing if was taught better. Examples in class were confusing, but if you don't go to lecture you will not pass. Study the home quizzes (similar to tests). Wu grades the tests pretty easy, but still you need to study very hard. Nice guy if you go in to ask for help.

Wu isn't actually a tough professor, nor is his class extremely difficult like the past people that have rated him cut him out to be. The take home quizzes are similar to the exams. Even if you do bad on one of the quizzes, as long as you take the time to understand the quiz afterwards, you'll be fine. He even tries to prepare you for the exams.

He has an accent and which is why a lot of people get confused or lost in class. But if you are determined to pay attention, you will find out that he isn't actually a bad professor. If you are smart and hardworking, you will be able to pull of a B. Overall, decent professor.

The assignments are definitely harder than the average homework. The exams are usually pretty challenging, but the grading done by the TA's or Professor is terrible. Hi explanations in class and teaching methods are not good, and he is not clear.

Comment:
My semester, the semester before and the semester before that had over half the class fail or have gotten a D. He rarely gives partial credit and the TAs are of 0 help when seeking some sort of explanation or help from the TAs, they will say you are on the right track and that's it. The professor is confusing, skips or doesn't cover material.

He's very hard to understand in class. His examples aren't what you see on exams and skips a lot of steps during lecture. Book varies from his lectures. He doesn't teach all of the material that's covered on the exam. No curve and final is 45% of your final grade.

Course is moderately hard for first midterm, kinda simple for second midterm then it all goes downhill. Do the best you can in first 2 midterms, you'll need those points for the final. Professor knows what he's doing, but can be hard to understand. The final is worth 40% and only 3 problems. The problems on final are all symbols! class ave was 60%D

I respect him as a professor, but he will not give you any extra points if you don't do the problems his way. The material itself isn't too bad...it's his teaching style and the useless TA's that make this class more difficult. If you can take it at a community college, do so. His final in worth about 45% of your grade and he always changes it.

He's a bit hard to understand sometimes. He also might not understand you. GO TO CLASS. Everything he writes is exactly the exam (not the final tho). Attendance will clarify a lot of the little tricks he expects to know.

Tests are different from the material he teaches in class, must do extra HW outside of class to pass. Class average was a 57% at the end and no he doesn't curve. Hard to understand at some points but it doesn't matter, you need to learn the important stuff from the book anyways. He is available in his office hours to help at least.

Good professor. took 203 with lemke thought i would get punished in 205. turns out wu is a very good teacher and i learned everything very well. you must do lots of problems from the book and understand the current material otherwise you will be screwed. tests will be MUCH easier if you have been studying and doing problems.

Very good professor, with very clear lectures and relatively simple exams. His grading, however, is not easy at all. Book work is a must considering his tests come straight from them, so if you don't do a lot of work outside of class, realize he has no problem giving you a 0/100

Really good professor. His lectures are mostly examples from the book, but he goes over them with clarity. His tests are fair, but its your job to do the book work to do well on tests. One of the best and fair professors i've come across. Also when he does problems on the board he does it by hand or his head, no calculator needed!!!

This guy must have got hit with a power trip. He changed the quizes to be worth 10% of grade, and yes final was worth 65% b/c average on both midterms were less than 50%. Atleast 35% got a D or less, or withdrew. Not the same Wu the older civil guys told me about, watch out. But then again the alternative is lemke so take your pick.

This is teacher is not helpful at all. He does examples in class, but it is very hard to understand him. If you go to his office with questions, he will yell at you. There is no curve on his tests, and no homework assigned. Our final was 65% of our grade. Don't take him unless you have to!
