Comment:
Professor Glenn is really a great professor. However, in my opinion, if you aren't 100% interested in the topic of the class you will get lost and confused. She makes everything you need to succeed accessible, but you need to go to class and take notes to be fully informed for tests and exams.

I absolutely loved Connie's Music of War and Peace class. Yes, it did involve weekly papers but most of the topics were interesting. She is one of the most passionate and involved professors I have ever had for a class. She sparked an interest in classical music and the topics were interesting. There were no tests, just listening quizzes.

Professor Glenn is very fair and understands when you don't have a huge musical background. She is very nice and helps when you need it. Not too much homework, and it's usually listening to music and writing a small bit about it. Doesn't make you write full sentences on the tests, my favorite part. :-)

I took this class because I needed an A&H credit, and I've always been passionate about music. Professor Glen is super sweet and wants to see her students' passion for music. This class has 1 assignment per week, listening quizzes, and take home essay exams. While that may seem like quite a bit of work, I have enjoyed this class. I recommend!

Connie is adorable and is so passionate about music, hers was a class I looked forward to every week. She assigns a lot of homework and it's time consuming, which sucks, but it's relevant to the material.

She's one of the most passionate professors I've had and is extremely nice. she genuinely likes teaching which can be rare to find. not very many assignments maybe once every 2 weeks but a lot of in class group work. tests can be fairly difficult, make sure you study the listening lists! it's a music history class with music to memorize

Prof. Glen is very passionate about music and generally very nice - that said, it was a lot of work for a 100 level class. It's never clear what is going to be on the exams, and the lectures drag on. She really likes to break us up into groups, which can get annoying in a huge lecture hall. The class is almost like a music history class.

I learned some interesting information in the course, but it was waaay too demanding for a 100 level course. Don't take it because it sounds easy, it's a lot of work. Connie Glen seems very passionate about music, but she picks favorites in the class and seems to have little patience with others.

The worst classroom experience ever. She is not clear about what is going to be on the test. She does not treat students fairly. I will never take any class with her ever again.

She treated the class like preschoolers. She would take students' phones away during lecture. She would waste valuable class time getting a 150 person lecture into small groups. Do not take this class with her if possible.

This class was pretty tough for a 100-level course. There is an in-class activity every day, usually involving some kind of group work. There is also an assignment every week, and a comprehensive exam taking an entire class period every 3-4 weeks. Study for the exams, don't miss class, & don't assume it will be fun just because it's a music class.

Easiest class I've ever taken - no tests, one weekly homework assignment, you basically show up and get an A. She brings in some pretty cool performers, too. Very passionate about the subject matter and really hates cell phones, so don't let that be her first impression of you

GREAT TEACHER! I had her for 2 semesters, once in z101 and then in z373 the american musical. This isn't a blow off class though. You work for your grade but she makes the material so interesting that you want to learn! She cares about her students and loves what she teaches! She hates laptops and cellphones in class so you've been warned.

Connie is so passionate about music and is really helpful to those who are willing to learn. Her tests can be difficult, but only if you don't put in the effort. Attendance is rewarded and she offers a lot of EC to help you out! Wonderful guest singers.

I thought Professor Glenn was a good teacher; she is very passionate about music. It's not a tough class if you study, and there are opportunities for extra credit. Some parts of the class might be hard if you have no prior musical experience.

Comment:
Extremely condescending to her students. The information presented in class is not consistent with the exams, she focuses on stories that interest her rather than musical terms she assumes students knew. Important information is rushed and her mood effected my learning. Very knowledgable about music, but should not be teaching at this level.
