I LOVE Beal! I had him for both 1010 and 2010, and honestly, if you show up to class and do the work, you'll get an A. He is one of the most personable professors I have ever had. I was struggling with personal things at the end of 2010 and didn't turn in some assignments and he was so understanding and was willing to work with me. He is the best!

I LOVED BEAL! The beginning of the semester was rough with lots of homework and reading but it slows down a bit as the semester goes on. There were group assignments as well. He was very good with feedback and was always willing to help when you needed it. He made class so fun!

If you show up and work hard, you will pass this class. I respect the hell out of this man. Get ready write and to laugh. He is the best. You WILL write, but it prepared me for 2010. He is understanding and he DOES care about you. He is compassionate and tells the best stories of his life. He is open-minded and friendly and isn't a grouch. #Gem

Beal gives a ton of homework, but is an extremely easy grader. He is basically an "A for effort" kind of teacher. As long as you do the assignments, you'll do well in his class.

He was such a fun professor to have! Although this class required a lot of reading, just as any English class would, he made it enjoyable. Group projects helped a ton also because I was able to get the help from my group with anything if I was ever confused. I'd recommend Beal to anyone!

This guy is awesome. I admit that I was a slacker throughout his class.. However, I still managed to pass with an A+. He is so laid back. The syllabus says that no late work is accepted.. Yeah, right. He will let you turn in anything until the last week of the semester. He is so easy. Go to class to get points, though. Ya gotta do that. Group work

Professor Beal was an awesome teacher!! I would take every English class from him if possible. There is a group project for the semester, which is super easy if you just get with your group 1-2 times and split the work. In class he shows lots of documentaries, which are really intersting to watch. There are a few quizzes in class, but not hard.

You're going to want to drop out of college all together when you first start this class. If taken as a 14 week class it's cake, but if taken as a 7 week class (like I did) you're going to hate it. The majority of the class you'll be in a group, which can suck, but it helps A LOT. Beal is a really good person and he is so witty, highly recommended.

Professor Beal was an inspirational teacher, he expects you to learn a lot on your own but he will also provide you with feedback. Definitely a tree huger, take him if you want to have a fun, interactive, and an easy class.

Beal has been one of my favorite professors at Weber State. His class was great and not super hard. He made you work, but he worked with you to get the best grade possible. He makes you think about different things that aren't typically thought about and makes you think critically to write. I took him for both English 1010 and 2010.

Beal's class was pretty easy and he's an awesome professor! He provides good feedback on writing assignments but is pretty lenient on actual writing ability, he's much more focused on helping you become a better writer than deducting points. He also tries to get you to think more about big issues and decisions you make in life, it's really cool.

There were plenty of easy assignments given ( more like busy work) that could be turned in several times for a better grade. Did not learn much in class, there was a movie nearly every class period that was irrelevant to the course material. You read one book and a half page paper due every week along with some other readings. Easy A .

Beal likes protest music and not McDonald's. He was a good teacher and I liked him. He's great and funny. Kills it in No-shave November, may have cheated with a head start. Word of Advice: Use lots of commas. Bring snacks for movies and for your new group, they will like you more. Take this class, Beal rocks.

Beal is a great professor. He assigns a lot of work and it seems overwhelming the first day of class, but it is easy, fun work. He is passionate about activism and big corps, so come prepared to discuss society. He is easy to work with and is really fun. The class was not what I expected but turned out great! Will be taking 2010 from him.

Beal is one of the best professors I have encountered at WSU! The workload for this class is daunting, but you will pass if you put in the effort and you will learn a lot. It isn't your typical English class. He definitely wants you to think outside the box. Only downside was two group projects. I think one would have been sufficient.

I enjoyed Beal's 1010 class so much that I will be attending his 2010 class in the spring semester. I was interested in everything he talked about. This was my first college class at Weber State and thanks to him it was a great way to start.

Don't listen to the naysayers, Beal is one of the best professors at Weber State. I learned so much about writing from this man. There is a reason this class comes off as easy, and that's because by the time Beal is done teaching, you know the material inside and out. Take Beal's class!
