Local govt has been my favorite class at Rochester so far. Class has very clear syllabus. Did very well in this class, and learned so much more than I had anticipated about Rochester+ how local communities function. Class gave us the ability to explore Rochester and meet with guest speakers working in the Rochester community.

The class required a significant time commitment and came with numerous challenges. Certain aspects of it had a steep learning curve, but there is so much to learn from him. Dealt with real world projects and situations, not a lecture-style environment, but collaborative working space. Experienced more of a real life scenario than academic.

Really nice guy. (too nice in my opinion). His version of 202 is much easier than Gamm's. But grading is up to the TAs so grading might be extremely different between TAs. Fair amount of readings and assignments. A solid class!

Stu is the best. I took PSC 280W with him and it was the best W class I could have ever hoped for. Instead of having to write a 25p research paper like most W classes. We wrote 5 5p papers. It was awesome. I highly recommend all of Stu's classes.

This is the second course I took with Prof. Jordan. As always, he is incredibly helpful and makes sure everyone has a good learning experience. What I especially like about his classes is that while he has fairly high standards of grading and does not curve, he is always available for extra help and gives regrade opportunities.

Although the professor tries very hard to revise his instructions for assignments, it is ultimately up to the TAs to grade assignments--who were not able to provide help for the assignments until after they were due. Unless you already have knowledge of game theory, economics, etc I would not recommend taking this class .

Best professor I've ever had so far! Whoever has a problem with his teaching style in PSC 202 is one who expects the professor to feed him all the class material. This class is for people who actually want to learn. Also, if you have good intuition of logic, game theory, economics, etc., the class will be extremely easy for you!

Comment:
He completely restructured the course from what it had previously been this year, and did so rather poorly in my opinion. It seemed like he knew as little about his assignments as we did and his explanations of them were rather esoteric as well. I would not recommend taking this course until he has had time to fix most of his assignments.

He is the greatest guy in the world. You can tell that he actually cares about his students and wants to help them do the best they can. He is clear in what he wants out of students, uses good readings, and engages everyone in class discussion as even when he lectures! Also, he's adorable.

Comment:
Sometimes he was very unclear and made some very important mistakes/mix-ups, but I think a lot of this had to do with him being very green (he's only been teaching for a couple of years). He really isn't bad for someone who's so new. The material was a little hard, but he made it easy and tried to explain it as best he could.
