I took her class in the middle of covid half in class and half online. I had a life event come up and she didnt seem to care or work with me at all. Its been about 10 years since I took a math class so her lack of explaining things really hurt my grade. Claims to take partial credit but I never got that. Had a C all semester until the final.

She is not great professor at all. She got lot of mistake on her solve problem someone need to check on her, because there is something wrong with her. She did not explain very well. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!

I love math but Benbow is really not great professor. I am lucky to pass my class that she is really want to make me look like that I'm lousy math but I'm not. I don't take her class again there is reason that she did not good explain and step by step on math solve problem. Benbow need to work on clear teaching them.

I took her for precal. passing with an A is not easy. you need to put lots of hours towards it. lots of hw on Aleks. youre given the opportunity to make 100 on all hw assignments, take it. you get reviews for every exam and time in class to work on review with peers. There is no excuse for failing this class tbh. definitely would not work full time

Professor Benbow is a mixed bag. The lectures are hit or miss, and the homework is either easy and short or long and hard. The homework is online through ALEKS. ALEKS can be very frustrating to use if you don't understand a concept. The class has 5 tests plus a cumulative final. End of class graded worksheets are common along with the ALEKS hw.

Her classes are long and drawn out, both physically and mentally draining. After a while it becomes almost impossible to pay attention because of how much time is spent on a single lesson. She will take the time to answer any question, and is willing to walk you through anything, though.

The amount of material jammed into this class, which was a regular m-f schedule, was insane. If you're taking other classes and/or have a full time job, it will be extremely difficult to keep up with the work load. I never had issues doing the homework on MyMathLab, but during her lectures and tests, I was lost. Completely different languages.

She is an amazing instructor that will meet the needs of her students. I had special circumstances that made me miss the first couple of weeks of her class and she worked with me to get caught back up with the class. As far as difficulty, it's not your high school algebra class but if you do the homework and watch the videos you'll do great! 5 star

Been a while since I took a math class so it was a little hard for me. I didn't even use the textbook, I just followed through examples & used that as my guide. Didn't like how I had to be watched taking the tests but I'm glad that we could use our notes for the final. (And not be watched as well). If you like math then you should be able to pass.

She's great at explaining things well. She will take the time to help you or she's available to help outside of class. Used to teach high school and still teaches the same way. She's more like a high school teacher than college professor. Drops grades. If you can do the review you can make an A on tests. Gives partial credit.

2-3 homework assignments a week, overall 4 quizzes, 4 tests(on campus or thru proctor U, w/o notes) and the cumulative final exam(At home w/ notes). Review for the final exam. instruction videos on mathlab. Friendly/quick reply through email. At the end of the course she dropped a couple of the lowest quiz/test grades. Easy environment for success.

I took her in the spring of 2016 and she was great. She was always in class and would help you until you understood it. We had issues with the homework website counting problems wrong even though they were right and she gave us points for those questions. Her class was an easy A for me and I would definitely take her again if I got the chance to.

DO NOT TAKE HER! My first C in my academic life. She doesn't explain a thing well. Makes you hate the subject even more. Just gives a day to do all the homework. She is very picky. Doesn't let go a bit of anything. Very non-cooperative. I did a mistake by taking her after reading her rating. Doing the same? Good Luck!

I took her for two semesters and she is a hard teacher. I barley passed with a C. She is a tough grader and she seems like she hates her job. If you need help go to her office hours. The book is necessary because she assigns homework and the reviews are in the book as well.

If you prefer to self-teach math, take this course online. Ms. Benbow did a great job keeping on top of things. MyMathLab and the Blitzer book have some variances, so take note of those. Also, the tests take forrrrever, so make sure to allow 4 hours for each exam. Lastly, stay ahead of the game - some sections are waaay more time consuming!
