Awesome, helpful, sweet, caring teacher. He teaches by ppt. & does pop quizzes. I skipped class a lot, but recorded his lectures & would always cram a couple days before an exam. Got A's on all, & he even dropped lowest & did bonuses to help people out who failed one. He is reasonable. Wants you to learn & understand, not screw your GPA over.

You have to study hard for his tests, but he does tell you what he expects. He grades fairly and his lectures some were boring and some were interesting.

To do well in this class, go to lectures and read the book if you don't understand. This is not an easy class that non-geology majors will breeze through, but Mitterer knows his stuff and is a good lecturer. Very interesting material! I was frustrated with the pop quizzes and how he graded one of the projects. Tests were not easy but fairly graded.

Completely agree with below topics. Don't waste your money buying the material the bookstore offers. Very large class size and as long as you read and listen in class you can get an A. Interesting material.

Easy and fun class. All he does is read off his powerpoints but some of the topics were interesting enough to keep me coming back to lectures. Reading materials is provided by him so you don't have to buy anything. His tests are based on his review and the answers can be found in the reading materials. Easy A if you read the stuff! Recommended!
