honestly you might as well bash your head against a wall. you would probably learn more. He is not an actual teacher he goes off on random tangents about who knows what the only good part is the final is optional and that he shows videos during class

Spano's class is what you make it. It is rather straight forward. However, you will perform poorly if you fail to do all of the readings, which are PLENTIFUL. The class is out of a total of 65 points if you decide to skip the optional final, so you have to make every point count.

Amazing professor. Relates with students very easily. Almost feels like being taught by someone our age. The only professor I want to wake up early for. Loves YouTube and posts reading articles online.

While the class is fun, his exams are only 20 questions that test on over 500 pages of reading. He normally teaches doctoral classes so his articles are beyond what undergrads should be reading. His class isn't boring which is a plus, but it's hard to get a good grade if you don't do ALL the reading. Lockup shouldn't be used to depict real prison!

loved this teacher. a lot of people have talked about how he's too easy, but while the class was easy he did what he was supposed to do. Its an introductory class, so its supposed to be easy. He does a very good job at introducing many of the theories and ideas of criminal justice and he's HILARIOUS. ohh, and he does love youtube. lol

While he is a nice guy, this class is useless. You will learn more by watching reruns of Law & Order and Lockup. The tests are really stupid and I rarely felt like they test how much you acutally knew. The discussion sections are also completely useless. Make sure you read all the readings carefully because he never discusses them in detail.

I enjoyed this class. All tests were scantron and maybe 1-3 short answer questions. Very little homework and tests were relatively easy if you went to class and took good notes. Take this teacher.

Dr. Spano was a great teacher. He was very open to questions and made class interesting. He provided the textbooks and readings for you, so you weren't required to buy an expensive book. His lectures ere interesting and intriguing and his tests weren't hard either. The only thing I didn't like about this class were the AIs.
